I only got properly to grips with semicolons quite recently.

Sweet. I'm thinking I might learn Portuguese, for a few reasons:

1. Archer speaks it and I want to be like him.
2. Portuguese and Spanish are pretty much mutually intelligible so I'd be able to understand both.
3. A really sexy Brazilian lady cuts my hair.
4. Banana speaks it so it must be cool.

 

Point 3 - you must have really short hair. I have to say I have only known about 6 Brazilian women in my life either from college work or a bar in town and I have to say they have all been really sexy.

 

I'm not sure Banana speaking it is a particularly convincing reason....

I'm currently attempting to learn Japanese from a textbook, but it's quite difficult. Although I haven't done much studying recently.

 

Yeah, it really is a fantastic country. I must go there.

 

I learnt a bit of Portuguese because I like the country. I've been told the difference between European and Brazillian is massive; though you'd still get buy in Brazil knowing the Euro language.

 

I can count to ten and say hello and goodbye in Japanese. I wouldn't want to learn a language that has a different alphabet though; that's more effort than I'm willing to make.

 

I know a few odd words and I can say one phrase: "Watashi wa Irigusu-jin/Chengoku-jin/Nihon-jin/Amerika-jin desu" which means I am English/Chinese/Japanese/American.

 

Speaking of Archer, just started downloading a torrent of every single epsiode. Gonna spend my long weekend at home watching it once it finishes in 7 hours

 

You're doing it the wrong way! Download one episode at a time. That way, you'll get the first in a few minutes, then you can download the second while you watch the first, download the third while you watch the second, and so on. No waiting time!

 

But that's too much effort

 

You know you can just make uTorrent download the episodes one by one from that one torrent? You don't have to find a torrent for each individual episode.

 

I wish I knew that before I started...ah well, 3 hours left on the whole thing now...how do you do that anyway?

You can't do it if it's a zipped file, but I assume it's not. When you open the torrent, and it comes up with the pop-up window with the list of files you're downloading, there's a box next to each file which you can untick (or just click the "untick all" option). I would untick them all, and then just tick the box for the first episode. Then when it's finished, go into uTorrent and tell it to download the second.

You can still do this now. Go into uTorrent, highlight the Archer torrent and click the pause button, then click the "files" tab and it should show all the episodes. Then find the first episode, right-click that and just set priority to normal to un-pause just that one.
