Yes, I saw this news stories, so where to begin.

Well firstly they have never policed mobile phones as it is an impossible task. Hence why they have doubled fines, more of a deterrent if you do get caught and only if you are dumb enough to get caught. Before any one starts I don't use a mobile at the wheel.

When was the last time you saw a policeman on the motorway unless it was clearing up more human debris off the M25, you don't need a ticket book for that, just a shovel?

Will forcing motorists out of the middle lane (hog) see an increase in accidents due to lane changing?

It is going to be measured over half mile. So are they going to pull motorists over in bulk, sort of do like an M20 operation stack...I suppose it will pay for our police force. There all hogging the middle lane on the M25 queuing to get over the bridge, so they'll have a captive audience. Instead of windscreen washers your get beaten about the head with a stick and then fined.

Got to be honest, I don't know who brain stormed this idea and I know the traits of motorists are annoying and putting aside the big brother aspect again, I would have sacked the person that brought this idea to my table.

As you can tell I'm not taking this idea seriously, like I can't take our government seriously. Money spinner and nothing else, don't believe a word of these devious idiots when they try to portray it as anything else.

A diversion from the issue of why MP's and Lords think it's ok to take money for "advice" or access parliament perhaps?

brb - you ask the question about police patrolling motorways. There won't need to be any if video 'evidence' is going to be used ( I don't know if that will be the case )- if it is - we're all snookered.
There just isn't enough space in the nearside lane for all traffic to move into after an overtake in Lane 2

Ok, the fine and points issue around tailgating, excellent idea, nothing worse than peeps sitting on your backside BUT how do you enforce it?? Example I usually follow the 2 second rule whist driving on the motorway however this leaves a gap big enough for another car to pull into. Now if the police see this it appears that I may be tailgating whilst in reality it is the other driver at fault for pulling into too close to me... fair?

Actually I have a full head of hair ( none facial ) - otherwise I would find it difficult to plead 'not guilty' in terms of characteristics.

    ps ......... Poshminx - check your control panel - I should have said ' lady ' ( sorry )

What you said your be in trouble. I'm sure she will accept a drink if we get to Charters this season.

But in fairness the picture fits quite amicably in attitude if not in baldness.

Don't have too long to wait for the fixtures. I'll definitely be going to London Road. I'd be more than happy to meet up & pay for my faux pas ( so long as you don't think about supplying any rohypnol )

Apart from the safety risk to students, how can anyone whose name has been placed on the sex offenders register be seen as a good role model for children?

Now all he has to do if find a school daft enough to employ him.

I see that on there earlier and was shocked, they should not let people like that near children, how can they say he don't possess a danger to children.
I think they are forgetting what they found, now he should never he a teacher again and should not be near children ever again, now I am shocked by this and can't believe what is happening here.

Ok to play devil's advocate here, but I have lots of films where people are shot, maimed etc. but that doesn't mean I am going to murder anyone

fair point. it is a very emotive subject but I was just trying to see the other side. At the end of the day you have to choose between trusting the decision of the board or not, very difficult

Part of a teacher's responsibilities is safeguarding the children in his care.

If he can't see what he has done is abusive to children how can he look out for the sign & symptoms of abuse in the children in his class?

Would he turn a blind eye to, rather than report, symptoms that are suggestive of sexual abuse?
