Are people now thinking there are no poblems what so ever ?

Canas signing is critical for us, but remember he doesn't actually sign until the end of the month so nothing has changed really.

My own view is that this news is timed perfectly to calm things down .

According to the Guardian you have already signed him.

But even if you haven't signed him, looking in from the outside, I find it quite harsh that you are all blaming Huw Jenkins for this stuff, despite Laudrup having left his previous job after falling out with the board there and Huw Jenkins shrewd running of your club one of the main reasons you are in the premier league today!

Well according to Sky Norway we have!! Seen it twice now in the last hour........................<ok>

Lucaaas agree, but he can be ridiculously tight, and we had a bad experience with Sousa and him falling out, and it was not handled very well by our club!..............<cheers>

There`s only a few with that opinion.
Perhaps ML only stays in a job for a year or two so he can fiddle his tax. Only joking guys.

Well its the same scenario all over again isn't it! Canas hasn't signed a contract yet, people are so desperate to grasp a positive story..and rightly so in fairness.

I have to say its looking good though :)

Jenkins is known for being a tight arse, I don't think any one on here would want him gone but many do get frustrated with him from time to time, as a chairman he is at his best in screwing clueless clubs that over pay for players. Jenkins is better at bringing in money than spending it, that is very well known by all fans <ok>

Norway and Phil will raise their concerns on here about the board but that's it. They're both proper fans and I've got no problem with anything they've posted, I don't like Phil's blue baseball hat but that's another story.

Only one person on here deliberately slags off the board, the manager, the team and now even the city itself but no one takes him seriously.

It doesn't work that way, a footballer can sign for a new club 6 months before his current contract expires. He transfers the day after the current contract has expired.

"The Spaniard has signed a pre-contract with the club which will be ratified once the transfer window opens on July 1"

Sounds to me that he's committed himself to the club.
I don't know much about the legal part of the contracts but I'm pretty sure a pre-contract is something you can't just walk away from. Then it would be no reason to sign it, would it...?

No he cant, a pre-contract can be signed outlining the signing on fee, wages and terms/conditions but nothing is finalised until the ink is dry on the proposed final contract. You cant be signed for two clubs at the same time so what your saying is totally wrong <ok>

The contract is also subject to a medical and as far as im aware he has yet to have this <ok>

Hell that's a point, all very confusing, though glad Jenkins has come out and cleared up all this, better late than never I suppose, though I wish he would protect our image better, than he does, after all he waited till Skybet had odds of Laudrup leaving at 2/1!................<laugh>

Except that he is not contracted to two clubs at the same time, Because the new contract begins after the other has finished and FIFA allows this with their hands tied by law of the European Union. No worker within EU borders can be prevented from signing a contract with a new employer within that last half year of his/her current contract.

To make matters a little more concrete for Swansea, FIFA amended it's rules on Pre-Contracts after the Obi Mikel incident where any other club taking a player already Pre-Contracted must compensate the club that the player signed the Pre-contract with. United got £16M compensation from Chelsea as he was Pre-contracted to the Old Trafford club before Chelsea hijacked the player.

No, but see my last reply why Swans are really the front runners on this one. :)

That's right, I did a thread not so long back on pre-contracts, and in my research came across this, and it was also the reason we couldn't sign Borini!.......<ok>
