Just repeating what they said on sky sports news, I thought the figure to be wrong as well.

They didn't mention a figure. What they mentioned was the fact that Laudrup possibly wants to spend 10million on a single player, and the board are unwilling to spend beyond their capabilities as they don't have the money to do so.
This is total nonsense from the board. Allen was sold for 15 million. Sinclair for 7 million, Graham for 4million, (Ash for possibly 10million) and that's before you take into account the compensation packaged from Rodgers and his team (possibly another 10million) the new tv deal plus money from potential new sponsors etc.

Let's be honest if the board said to Laudrup you can only spend 5m,then I think there would be an uprising against them.

well your beginning to find out what a lot of us old hands have known from the beginning.....Lets hope that the Morgans overrule jinx and his lack of knowledge how the premiership works and laudrup can start to get to work ready for next season. laudrup needs all this bullshit like a hole in the head with his own personal troubles and its not needed...we can afford £50 bloody million if we wanted let alone a fair £30 million to bring in the players we cant function without next season.....Its upsetting the players too...heard today that michu is considering a move if laudrup goes and one or two others will follow.......If jinx dont see sense then we could end up in meltdown and nobody wants that....

With revenue we've had this last year, we must be looking to spend anything between 20-30m. Now I think if Laudrup is asking of this, then this is reasonable amount of money to strengthen the squad. Anything less than 20m shows lack of ambition by the club and we all know we need a top class striker and there not cheep.

Dai, I am an old hand I remember the Toshack years when Mr Struel gave John whatever he asked for transfer money. He gave him 350K for Colin Irvine<thats worth about 10 million today> and almost a new team. Well the wages that they were paying were top drawer and after our first season we slipped down the leagues. The rest is history and you want us to go down the same route???

IF this is true, I emphasise IF, then it's a fcuking disgrace!! As for an uprising, I think there would be so much anger from the supporters, there will be a tidal wave of opinion to get kick Huw kicked out on his arse.

This is nothing short of insulting to Michael Laudrup who signed a contract extension in good faith having been promised funds to improve the team. Not only that, it is tarnishing the image of our club and dragging it into disrepute. Neither Huw Jenkins, nor the Board have a mandate or a right to do that.

What manager of any credibility or stature will want to be associated with us if this is true? It isn't as if we haven't got the money because we have. It leads me to believe that is some truth in the theory that Laudrup was only offered an extension so we could cash in on the compensation when he was levered out. If we are not careful, Michael Laudrup could have a clear case of constructive dismissal against the club - and you know what, I wouldn't blame him if he sued.

This smacks to me of a bunch of small minded amateurs trying to play at big business and making a total pig's ear of it. Laudrup should be given at least £20 million to spend because he deserves the backing and that spend will be needed to help us survive what is likely to be the toughest season in our history. I don't even care if the stadium expansion is shelved to help with funds because we won't fill it back in the Championship, which is where we might well end up, or worse, if this isn't sorted quickly.

Even if compromise is reached, it might now be too late in view of the fact that Laudrup and Jenkins aren't even speaking. If trust has been breached it will be difficult to find a way back. I know one thing, IF it transpires that Laudrup has been forced out on the back of broken promises, Jenkins and the Board will experience a very different attitude from the supporters - and they won't like it very much.

Final nasty and extremely cynical thought. Perhaps the Board have done the maths. They know that Michu, Chico and others would leave along with Laudrup. Total revenue £40/£50 million or so? Perhaps this is the figure they are prepared to sell the good name of our club for. I really hope not. But should it happen, I hope others, along with me, will keep a very careful eye on exactly where that money is expended. Nah, they wouldn't do that.

I am an old hand too. There were exceptional circumstances that led to our decline in those days. Today is a totally different environment, particularly with the vast sums available at the top level.

But whatever the arguments about that, it appears as though specific promises to our manager have been broken and that is not acceptable. I can't wait for this to come out in the open. I'm sick and tired of theory and conjecture and I want to do my ranting based on facts.

Bide your time Ivor the truth will be revealed ! by the way our new sponser is not as big as first thought, quite underwhelming by all accounts, apparently the word used about the commercial department was "just like being at the Vetch" meaning that we are still light years behind being the professional well run club we are supposed to be!!

Small buisnessmen trying to run a global brand multi million pound enterprise ! we are moving out of our depth as a club but dont have the Brains to harness what we have created and make money from it. The safe option is to stick to what they know, the cheap option, which is where we are at now.

Laudrup is not totally blamless in this either, it will all come out or if things get sorted it will get tied up and forgotten about...which is highly unlikely <ok>

Exactly the point i made to campioni Dilli, the club are owned by the fans and run by the fans but there are more secrets there than in KGB head office !! Fans need to know what the **** is going on and the club need to be up front and honest about the situation for once.

There's a thread on our board suggesting that things are not good with you lot. Hope it gets sorted and you go into the new season with the same manager.
