If this is gonna be the quality of the rumours and/or players then can i kindly request to be put into a coma til the 3rd game of the season?
Yeah i know!!! That is what is worrying, that is a total Levy type buy. My only hope is that its June and therefore might be bs because Levy doesn't start for nearly 2 months.
I'm sure we'll end up signing him 2 minutes before the window closes, assuming Levy can screw the price down far enough!...
Given the hassle of signing Bostock (although most of that was Simon Jordan slandering us because he was an orange pillock of the highest order), was it really worth it?
Franco Baldini has left Roma. Hopefully we can get him in as DOF and kick on in the transfer market, as yet again, we're getting left behind - City have spent about £50m this week on Navas and Fernandinho - with Chelsea securing Jose, you can bet that it won't be long before they start either.
I agree. This is what does my head in and is a prime example of the type of player we're likely to waste 9 or 10 mill on, rather than spending that bit extra to secure a name that other clubs want. Wanna compete with the top 4? Gotta buy the sorts of players the top 4 would like to have. I don't see City, United, Chelsea or Arsenal wanting a Birmingham reject somehow.
It looks like this guy is actually going to be our first signing, not a player. Perhaps once this is sorted the squad will be added to soon after. I'm hoping that levy is trying to get this out of the way, so it's all systems go go go. We need to try a different tactic this summer. The late purchases do the squad no good whatsoever.
Thanks tots, i was getting Dameow withdrawal symptoms there. How much is he now? He must be £25-30m. Do you reckon we'll still get linked with him once he's moved somewhere else?
Probably means that no CL club will pay whatever ridiculous sum they were asking. Might mean we'll get him. Depends on whether getting a player that no top paying club wants is good or bad. But, as Levy won't pay up, I suppose that's all we can afford anyway.
He refused to work out a move last week too. Transfers are so much easier on Football Manager, aren't they?
New Levy tactic, sign DOF on 31 August then he can use it as an excuse for not signing any players in the Transfer window.
The transfer market is a race where the Chelseas and Man Cities go roaring around the race course, and Spurs keep hoping the Spursmobile will make it onto the track before the race is over.
I prefer it's one where Man City and Chelsea grab the headlines, but we make the smart signings whilst the media is predictably distracted. Vertonghen, Sigurdsson, Dembele, Parker, Sandro, VDV, Kaboul and, at the time, Kranjcar were all smart signings that improved the team. Yes, I have noticed none of those are strikers...
Imo, not in Bales case, we're not talking about a Modric or a Berbatov here, Bale is a once in a generation gifted genius, no amount of work would make up for losing such a player...unless you get Ronaldo as a swap!
