There's a lot of parents go through it, it is torture, me & his mam took him to his battalion in Edinburgh to start his tour, had to stop on the way home, my wife was in tears, I was trying to be strong, sometimes being a man sucks, you are right you do loose a lot of sleep, especially if there has been a loss of life, it may not be your'e kid, but it's a mate of his, nd your heart goes out to his family. We are now preparing ourselves for his next tour in 2012, hopefully by then someone will have seen the light & say enough is enough

Never wanted kids. Mines 17 now. Trying to persuade/bribe (£100) him to get the snip for his eighteenth so I dont have grandbairns to babysit.

Having said all that, I am responsible for him, I brought him into the world (wife helped a little bit I suppose) and I would be willing to kill, nay torture, if anyone ever hurt him.
