Come on Tobes, I asked you a question. I didn't bring up McLeish, or ask you if you agreed that Bambi-on-ice-lookalike Djimi Traore must be a better left back than Leighton Baines cos he has a CL winners medal. I just asked you what Moyes had acheived? Has he managed to get a team promoted? At Preston, for instance? Come on, what are his acheivements?
Yes he got Preston promoted. His main achievement was taking a relegation threathened PL side & with a net spend of £11m TOTAL in 11 years, took them to top 6 & beyond, consistently, year in year out, despite being hamstrung by the resources provided to him. He was one of only 3 managers in the PL who consistently out performed their budgets. He didn't lift a pot, but outside of the current CL sides, only 5 others managed that during his tenure & 3 of those have since been relegated..........
Bill Kenwright- "Moyes' first words to me were 'I'll keep Everton up'. Roberto's first words: 'I'll get you in the Champions League."
All I said was that his view was ****ing clueless imo, HE then called me a twat, so he got one back. & since that sad ****** Astroturfnaut with his neg rep power lol, has chosen to shaft me for it. **** the lot of you, this site's **** anyway.
Sad that I had to spoon feed you your argument, Tobes. I was hoping for a bit of a debate on the matter. But please note that Moyes failed to get out of the Championship with Preston. For your information, in case your blinkers and the xenophobic press have already biased you against Roberto, here are the FACTS about Martinez. He kept Wigan in the Premiership for 4 seasons with an average spend each season of -£1.1mil - just let that fact soak in for a moment, because you and your blue colleagues are keen to point out Moyes' management on a shoestring, yet Moyes has had more than £1.75mil average to spend over his 10 year tenure. Moyes' average finish is 8th incidentally, not top 6. Martinez also got a League 1 club promoted to the Championship. And as you've noted, he's also won a pot. I think this shows that they are both very decent managers. You might have a chip on your shoulder (looks like a 25kg sack of king teddies from here, mind) that you're getting an Anfield reject, but really I think he could be really quite good you. His style of football is attractive, and I thought the adherants of Dixie Dean would have appreciated it. Of course, you might prefer the Joe Royle approach...
He's bound to say something like that lol I bet Rodgers first words were not "We'll finish behind Everton again" were they...****ing plank
Martinez is ****ing over rated. This FA Cup nonsense doesn't change that. 'Arry won it with Pompey and he's ****e. RM will take them backwards IMO, and I don't really want to see that. CL isn't a bad target considering their position last season, but I doubt he is the man to bring it, esp if they lose a few players.
Probably just the usual bollox when a new appointment Is made I expect? I would have thought most of the would be managers would have said something along those lines as It's an Improvement on what we have been achieving pretty much the same as Moyes said we would not go down when to be fair when he took over It was only a matter of time that we were going down If we were not going to Improve somewhat... No manager Is going to say In an Interview he Is not going to try to Improve.. For the record I don't think he will fetch CL to Everton I don't think any manager can without Cash £££ unfortunately or It would take an Injury free season with allot of luck lol I see Man C are spending mental money already...The big money at the top of the league means realistically there Is only one CL place to play for, IMO Man C, Man U and Chelski are 1,2 and 3 In whatever order and 4th Is between (at the moment) Spurs and Arsenal with the outsiders Everton and Liverpool this Is why 4th Is treated like a trophy..
Of course, you are right. Any manager that didn't say they would aim for the CL doesn't deserve the job. But BK coming out and saying it is ridiculous, to then compare it to his predecessors comments?
Trying to make a statement of how much EFC have Improved from the relegation fodder days? Makes David Moyes look a bit of a plank tho wording It like that lol I haven't seen any Interviews been at work..
I've heard it a few times on TalkSport, they keep replaying it despite Everton fans (that have phoned in) asking them not to because its cringe worthy I understand him wanting to make a statement and back the man he has chosen but this not only makes Moyes look a bit silly but also puts immediate pressure on RM to perform. In addition, BK has said he will "back him with a bit of cash", any ideas what that means? A fiver? Ten? He wants change from a twenty?
