There are a lot of rumours about you getting a new target player ... who would you prefer: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (career stat: 396 app / 219goals) http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/j...an-ibrahimovic-at-chelsea-el-mundo-deportivo/ Mario Gomez (career stat: 279 app / 159 goals) http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/m...nchester-city-or-chelsea-stuttgarter-zeitung/ Edin Dzeko (career stat: 285 app / 123 goals) http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/318584/Mourinho-moves-for-Dzeko/
None of the above. Id sooner play Lukaku , but if we did sign a new forward then Cavani would be my choice.
Ibra without doubt. However his wages would be stupid and he's a tad old so I'll go with either swapping Torres + cash for Cavani or playing Lukaku.
Target player - Eric Bristow. Failing that, Lukaku. Support him with the 3/4/5 amigos & Piazon/Torres (let Ba go. Alternatively, play 6 across the middle like Barca
If we buy instead of relying on the 3 we have, i'd say Lewandowski then Cavani then perhaps Gomez. Dzeko is a good player but doesn't really excite me much. Ibra wont happen, far too expensive given his age.
Ibra seems to fall out with players and staff everywhere he goes, Chelsea don't need any more of that
You can have Carroll off us for a fiver if you want Lukaku's going to be immense, so naturally I hope you don't play him next season . Not a big name, but surely the best fit and given him time to develop around some quality players.
Its all about options IMO. When we won the league we had different types of front man. Drogba/Gudjohnsen/Kezman (ok he didn't work out too well!) in 04/05. In 05/06 we had Drogba/Crespo/Gudjohnsen. And in 09/10 we had Drogba/Anelka/Sturridge. As long as we have 3 different types of striker that can be kept keen and hungry (difficult but do-able) then we'll be ok! Lukaku/Torres/One other!
Pause. We have mata. We have hazard. We have Oscar. If we dont plan to play hoof ball, why do we need a TARGET front man?
Do you not think having a target men who can hold the ball up and lay it off to the 3 amigoes will work? I think it might.
What about villa. Great finisher. Great movement. Can bring they amigos into play. Would be a cheaper option. Only problem is his fitness and injury record. Good squad player and with Romulu would gives us a different option.
True, but........ naaah - that kind of football is for teams that know no other way to compete. We certainly don't wanna spend more than, say, 20 mill on what will be a backup tactic.
