    My pick, based on pure ability and not revenue would be scorsese.

    Can't pick one I have to pick 3
    Spielberg, for just the shear amount and turnover and some great films.
    Scorsese for his utter brilliance.
    And Stanley Kubrick for every film he has made.

    I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like Scorsese's films.
