You are correct....I've never read any type of fantasy books apart from the lord of the.rings.......but one thing I can see is that millions of muslims around the world don't take the book out of context.......they live peaceful lives and I see no more hate in them than any other religions............. I will say is I'm surprised no other soldiers have been attacked from some.of.the.treatment.of Muslims by foreign forces.....seems 2b a case of swings and roundabouts. I don't really have to prove anything, aber but as a keen SCUBA diver and an instructor I visit Egypt regularly and have lots of Egyptian (yes they are Muslim) friends. When I go this year it'll be my 18th trip. So yes, I've learned a little Arabic and done a couple of courses. The Egyptians always have a giggle when I give it a go but they appreciate someone trying to speak their language. Yes, most Muslims are peaceful - I wouldn't visit a Muslim country so regularly if they weren't. The Egyptians are some of the most wonderfully warm people you'd ever meet with a wicked sense of humour. But some aren't, and if a plane gets flown into a building somewhere you can virtually guarantee it ain't the right wing Christians even though they're equally barmy.

I've even met some on liveaboard trips where they're on the water 24/7 who are terrified of swimming - but the money is good. But remember, without tourists the economy would suffer terribly - as it is right now. Believe it or not the wreck of the Thistlegorm off South Sinai brings in more money for Egypt than the Pyramids - it's true. Trouble is, they've been a bit daft and voted in Morsi as President who is Muslim Brotherhood. First thing he did was sweep away the powers of the Judiciary. Next he banned the opposition and now he's trying to make further 'Islamic Reforms' to ensure he can never be challenged. He will prove to be worse than Mubarak ever was, mark my words. My Egyptian mates are all very very worried right now. Anyway, can't chin-wag. Off to have a beer.
