I'm not bothered with the expected ridicule I may get - somebody might be interested to know that real heroes do exist. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-22773321 R.I.P. Colin ( & Kevin )
You may be expecting ridicule, but you won't get it from me. A real true hero, giving up his life in attempting to save another. RIP.

I like ridicule as much as many on here but not in this case. you can't really show any more courage than that. Very sad.
Ciaran, what's with the Alsatian/German Shepherd (I can never remember the difference - if there is one) photo?
What the **** is this thread about? Some daft Geordie drowns while trying to save an Irish pikey. That's nature's way of improving the gene pool.

The German Shepherd became popular after it's qualities became noted during the first world war when they were used by the German army. However it was thought that it would be easier to market the breed as " alsation " as the Germans weren't very popular at the time. I think the name "Alsation " is derived from the Alsace/Lorraine area which was part of the disputed area over which the frogs and gerries were fighting. Every day's a school day.
