I've just realised, in that pic it's Boyd that's looking at the other guy as though he's the odd one in the situation.
Hull need to stop wasting their time and ours unless they're willing to match the valuation. We've lost too much money in the last few years to start under-selling our assets on top. Kasper is good enough to serve a Premier League club for the next ten years thanks to the experience he's gained with us. No way are we going to sell him for a few more quid than we paid for him! To put it simply, how much would it cost to replace Kasper? He's pretty widely evaluated as the best in this division, so he's clearly ready to step up. Which means we'd have to look to the Prem to replace him. How many Prem quality keepers in the mid 20s would we get for under £2m? My betting is none.
Talking of amateurishly pointless, how is it one the one hand you are all convinced that Leicester have plenty of money to spend yet on the other you can only enter the race for James Vaughan if you get rid of some so called "dead wood" first?
What because we need to shift some deadwood you think we should sell our assests on the cheap? Beckford needs to go either way along with a few others Kasper wont leave on the cheap as he is a very important player
We do have plenty of money, but because of FFP we can't lose more than £8m next year. We have to sell or release players that are not good enough for our promotion campaign and players that aren't value for money. Our squad can't really be any bigger than it is now, but we can certainly improve the quality of it. Kasper is certainly one of the players who is good value for money and certainly good enough to be part of a promotion winning side.
Beckford and the rest of your "dead wood" could still be with you come August and you could be kicking off the new season with the same squad you finished last season with. IF that is the case Square head (IF he is still your manager) will then have to decide whether or not to somehow change things around in the transfer window or stick with what you've got
If they're still with us (some will be I think, but not all) then they'll be loaned out to minimise loses on wages. We in turn will likely have to bring loanees in in this case, like we did with Kane and Keane. In this scenario it will be "in for out", as you suggested about Vaughn. Either way, we can improve our squad without breaking the bank or selling off our assets.
That still wont do it Regardless of what you lot say. As Kasper is our player you need to meet our valuation to sign him. Not yours
Its called negotiating. The turning point would be IF Schmeichel has his head turned. It happens and then clubs who think they can play hard ball end up softening a little. TWT
Making bids of 1.25M and 1.75M didnt do you any favours at all. Kasper himself will see it as an insult and all you did was make us think your taking the piss so if our fragile relationship was going to allow this deal to go through. You just put a spanner in the works
Not when you make piss poor offers it doesnt. Kasper knows full well we want top dollar for him. All you probably have done is either convince him you cant afford him or he thinks you dont rate him enough He hardly going to kick up a fuss if it turns out you have no chance in hell of paying for him
Every club makes "cheeky" initial bids knowing they have little chance of being accepted. I'm sure Nigel has offered a few "testing the water" bids in his time! Its taken a bit longer to reject our 2nd bid than it did our 1st so who really knows how much your owners will accept? Despite the assertions of some of your fellow Foxes who both seem to know - but also claim not to be in the know!
Your first bid was an insult. Why would we sell him for less than we paid when he's improved no end with us? You second bid was laughable. There's no way we'd even consider less than making a £1m profit, so £2.5m would have been a more convincing start to negotiations. You'll just piss us off with such feeble offers.
And you know all about making piss poor offers! Although he has subsequently turned out to be an egotistical, lazy, overweight waste of space, Cameron Stewart was looking worth more than the £1.5M Nigel was offering for him at the time - and Nigel knew CS as well as anyone. Turns out you dodged a bullet with that one BUT the point about poor offer at the time remains valid.
But time as proven Pearson right about Stewart. Kasper dedication to the game and winners mentality will never subside, so he's worth every penny of £4m.
Kasper has had 2 fantastic seasons here. Proving his value is alot more then 1.25M and 1.75M. Had Kasper been under a stronger contract I would have wanted at least 6M. Having seen him week in and week out for 2 years I can confidently say he is going to be one of the best keepers in the country and maybe Europe in another couple of years Stewart had a good 6 months. You wanted around 2M+ We sign both Ben Marshall and Anthony Knockaert for less then 2M. Both are better players then Stewart
