    Morning all

3,000 words edited/rewritten this morning...progress indeed. A bit of shopping and then sitting in the garden is now the order of the day.

I think this is one time you can use a "grocers' apostrophe" just to assist those with an incomplete education! <ok>

To bring some sanity back to this subject, do you mean AS levels or A levels (now called A2s)? jerzeypie is taking his AS levels at the moment and he thinks he did ok with his ICT exam yesterday.

I once co-authored a text book, Yorkie, and vowed never to do it again. I finished writing my part (60% or so) and then rewrote his, as his subject knowledge was rather better than his ability to write even passable English. Add that to the fact his handwriting was illegible and he never delivered on time and I swore only ever to write as a sole author after that.

The meetings I enjoyed the most were the very good dinners with the commissioning editor after the text had been submitted!

Morning all. I've been away for awhile due to a combination of disappointment, work pressure and family. Mrs NZ is away at the moment so I am a sole parent, which means the day is never long enough, especially as we all have colds!

At work we have a new head honcho who is making his mark by forcing a complete rejig of the organisation. Consequently people are leaving in disgust. The rest of us have lots of extra work. If I didn't have children, a nasty mortgage and a house that still needs repairs as a consequence of the earthquake with no sign of getting our insurance money yet, I'd leave too.

We have also had our first snow of the year, too, but it didn't stay, much to master NZ's disgust.

I edited a joint one one before too.... my co-editor and I fell out.. .and nothing happened for three months so I had to write to the publisher to make my colleague start working with me again!

This one now is one of my ex- students.... so he is determined to do a good job... but his writing style was very trying.... he has now seen my chapters and realised. He has a virtually total rewrite.... I have a lot of cutting and pasting and signposting ... so not too bad...

I used to reckon the quality of the lunch was a good indicator of how keen they were to retain your services. Beware the cheese sandwiches....

Morning all, Lovely morning here with sunshine and blue skies promised for the whole day. <cool>

Strange weather so far this year Yorkie, much colder and wetter than is normal. Forecast for today though is a high of 28C° and similar for the next few days. What it will be in four weeks time is unknown, but with a bit of luck you should be ok.

Grass cutting here again I suspect as it is growing at an alarming rate. A few drinks breaks might be required. ;)
