Just a quick bit of information for the new users. Until you've made 10 normal posts if you try to quote somebody, include a website address, or put a picture/video or some other feature into your post the website automatically blocks it until a moderator approves it, so nobody can see it. Your best bet is to just not do those things until you've made 10 posts. We're not on here all the time to see that your post needs approving, and by the time we do see it there could be a load more posts on the thread that mean your post goes unnoticed once it's approved.
When im on my phone (like now) more often than not I can't open any links, so often have to ask what the thread's about. Can people give a brief summary rather than just post a link?
I'd go along with that, Mullet. Sometimes (when I'm in a **** mood/can't be arsed) if I open a thread and there's only a link there, I give it a total miss. Maybe I check it later, if it starts to get some responses.
Can't the announcement be edited? EDIT: It can, but the only problem is that no one will see it's been updated. So just to add to Ricardo's OP can I also point new posters in the direction of the Forum Rules/Hints for new users That exact request is included in the announcement 'Forum rules/hints..." and I have tried to remind people of it a few times.
