If that is just the promo for our season ticket. God NC video he shows potential signings must be EPIC! Although having had a season ticket since we were relegated from the premiership. I was swaying towards not renewing this year due to financial reasons. Having watched that it has completely chnaged my mind. I am excited by the prospect of the club and where we can go. Plus I don't think I could sit at home every (home game) and listen. I would want to be there.
And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the justification and reasoning behind creating a video as a marketing tool. Well done Saint_Nom, you know that's the right decision.
I sense the force in you CBK..... come over to the Dark Side. I think you are turning.... very, very gradually
Saints fans are so fickle. We all moan that we want to see ambition and vision from the club, yet when we see it, we moan that ambition and vision is not enough or that it's a pie in the sky idea. We want to see the club make a statement of intent no matter how small (e.g. a video like this), then when we see it, we moan it's too much or not realistic. I echo. Godders thread on what do we actually want from our club? Why do some of us just refuse to be happy with the way the club is run? We say we want something, then we get it and moan it's not enough! I urge people to look back at the dark Lowe days when we were tumbling down the leagues and out of business. People seem quick to forget those times.
Think you are speaking for yourself mush not everyone, so unless you are the Queen and invoking the Royal "we". You can have ambition and vision without spreading tons of cheap cheese all over it. The corporate video doesn't particularly offend me. Certainly doesn't inspire or stir me. Just think its a bit.... naff. Calling something from the club "naff" is not a hanging offence and it won't make Cortese up sticks and leave.
Why do people have to like this video to be positive? I don't doubt cortese's ambitious and think thats great. In my subjective opinion the video is quite cringe worthy but others in their subjective opinion will like it. Neither is right or wrong and it's not about how ambitious people are. Also why are some fans so obsessed with making sure the other fans are 'ambitious enough'. The fans don't realistically have any impact whatsoever on the long term ambitions of the club so what difference would it make if the fans are ambitious or not? (I realise you didn't qoute me but it still seems relevant)
Also some of our fans could really do with realizing that criticizing someone doesn't mean you don't support them. I think Cortese is a very good chairman and want him to stay for a long time. I also think like every other chairman and every other person he makes mistakes and does things which I would rather he didn't. Those two things are not mutually exclusive and it seems like a forum for saints fans where nothing any one says has any impact upon anything is a rather suitable place to discuss things and give opinions.
Exactly, I'm always staggered that some fans look back at those times as almost "the good old days," like hell they were, with the exception of Strachan's time at the club I pretty much look back at the whole time as a pretty miserable affair! I've said this before but I honestly believe that Saints fans have a self-depreciating outlook on the club in order to protect themselves from what they see as inevitable failure, guess what, it's not inevitable anymore!
Does anyone actually do this? Especially someone who has already bought a ****ing season ticket? I understand it's part of your gimmick to moan about stuff but now you're just making ****e up to complain about. It's a little cheesy, but come on guys, it's a bloody promo video for folks that just dropped a ton of money on tickets. I can understand wanting to put out something glossy and over the top.
Well enough people on here keep harping on about "vision this" and "vision that" so I can only take them at their word that is very important to them. Maybe not the reason they buy a season ticket, but maybe they wouldn't without a "vision" ? But whats the point of an advertising gimmick video when you've already bought the product?
No, I'm saying that my support of this club isn't dependent on us having or not having a "vision". It's not really that important to me, certainly not as important as it seems to others. Of course Cortese has a vision, it's his job, one that he pays himself a lot of money to do. It's fair enough of him to share it, I get that, although its all very broad brush strokes and there is no opportunity for supporters to pose questions (well they can, but they very rare get answers) about the finer details. I don't subscribe to feeling a lesser supporter if I don't "subscribe to a vision".
I think it does more as a cheap way to reward folks who buy them. They get a nice "Exclusive" (for all that's worth in 2013) video and a bunch of folks get reminded that the ****load of cash they spent is worth it because WE'RE GOING TO GO AND WIN THE LEAGUE GODDAMNIT! For me, if I was in a position to buy a season ticket, I would, wether we're struggling or not. I think folks get so excited about us having a short/long term goal and plan because lets face it: we haven't had that for quite some time. I'm excited by the club having a leader who is aggressive in looking to expand and improve it.
