Ha ha! Inside forwards are everywhere at the moment. They're really back in fashion, best example of an inside forward for me at the moment is Juan Mata. the old inside forwards played just inside the wide man of the old 5 up top 5 at the back formation. but in the modern game attacking full backs provide the roll of the wide man getting forward overlapping and using the free space while the inside forward cuts in and runs at defence, he should have options in front of him and to his left and right. Adam Johnson should come on leaps and bounds this year as it's a taylormade position for him. If we are going the inside forward route then expect left footers on the right and visa versa and very active full backs. It'll be the 451/433 the rest of the world is playing. How's that? Think i've said more about the modern inside forward then the old but I am only 31.
As I said - over the age of 30 and we know what they are - under 30's have no idea as it's not called an inside forward No such thing as an Outside right or left anymore either!!
Have you lot signed about 20 players this week or something? I've been well busy at work, killing me watching all the students walk by outside in skimpy clothes, I'm usually outside pretending I'm on the phone. Anyhow, every time I poke my head in here, there's another 5 signings coming in. Who's confirmed, I think I know of Cabral who looks decent, think he played against us in the Champions League no? Seems like Di Canio's going to town on the window.
None have been confirmed. But come 1st of july we're led to believe we'll be announcing: Valentin Roberge (Maritimo) Mobido Diakite (Lazio) Cabral (Basel) so far.
di canio seems to be getting a few decent players in on bosmans. thier coming from the continent as well so shouldnt be on massive wages. hopefully he can bolster the squad a bit with free's and use the cash from sales and whatever short gives him to add some real quality to the squad
you are correct - Claudio Marangoni, couldn't adjust to English football, the weather & English life, I was in his company several times and he was a nice bloke.
Claudio Marangoni, now theres a memory and a half. Big lanky striker scored a beaut against Cambridge United I recall. Tried hard to adjust to life in Sunderland but just couldnt settle, went back to Argentina and scored a ****load and appeared for his country a few times too if I recall
Yep. He was always one pass ahead of the rest of the lads. It was a real shame he couldn't settle. He had class it's a pity the rest of the team didn't.
He looks quality, but Wigan signed Boselli had a cracking scoring record in Argentina when Wigan signed him. I have a lot of faith in our new scouting team though!
entering last year of contract, will we offer him a new 1? I very much doubt it the club might want to make a couple of million now while they can, same could be said of Gardner
