You'd have him over who? He can't defend as well as Lucas, he's not as creative as Coutinho and, well, who'd replace Gerrard? So, where would you play him and instead of who?
He's done nothing of the sort - his last interview was him saying he's more than happy to stay. BUT - he's got a release clause that can be triggered by him if a CL club come in for him.
I thought he had made comments about wanting to play for a top club and get CL football etc? Same as our Luis
Nah, he's got a tad more class than the buck toothed cheat http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...er-united-transfers-marouane-fellaini-1920189
But like with most players, he isn't going to say he wants to leave and sacrifice his "loyalty" bonus and upset the fans.
It's in Fellaini's interest to keep quiet about wanting a move, praise his old boss to the hilt and wait for the call. That's not class it's common sense.
In which case he'd have said nothing, & he didn't praise his old boss to the hilt, he said him leaving made no difference to him. Hardly a surprise that you've no idea what class is, though.
A name change, didn't know about that. I said it's in his interest to keep quiet, praise his old boss and wait for a call, that to me is common sense not class. I don't actually know if he's done any of that as I don't keep track of what EFC players do or say. You have confirmed he has kept quiet, so I'm guessing the rest may follow, he must want CL football.
He is being clever..would not like Everton's fans to be on his back:unlikely to force a move.United or any one can come with an offer Everton cannot refuse.
IMO, it is both class and common sense and none of us can say which proceeds the other for any player. Felliani, like Saurez, has made no secret for his wish to get to the top run of the ladder within the game. I can't condemn a player for having ambition, in fact I would be concerned if they didn't! All we (Liverpool and Everton) can (could?) hope for is that they play well enough for us to get the move they want and that we make a tidy sum in the process. Both instances look like achieving both
So weak that United fans have been talking about buying new centre mids for the last 3 seasons at least and so weak that Fergie's been sniffing around them too Don't get me wrong, Carrick's had a good season, but you're crazy if you think United have a good enough midfield to compete against teams besides Stoke, West Ham or Cardiff. It's their defense and attack (and Fergie) which have carried the team the last few seasons, not the midfield. I always fancy us to get a result from United, but I'd actually be worried going to games against them if they had some serious talent in the centre.
Plus, yes they won the league but their aim is to win in Europe too. With the central midfield they have, they will always struggle against a Bayern, Real, Braca, etc. I think it won't be long before PSG are joining that list, especially with the potential emergence of Monaco too (make the French league stronger and more attractive to players)
Never understood why teams can't admit their own flaws; the counter argument is always, "but our midfield is better than yours". Yeah, no ****ing **** it is. Doesn't make it good though. That's like saying Bradford's midfield is better than Cheltenham's, doesn't mean they're going to go conquer Europe though Not sure how Monaco will do, Ranieri isn't the greatest manager (and got sacked from Chavski when the money came in) and they're buying an almost entirely new first team. PSG are getting strong though, interesting to see who they buy this summer - reports of Rooney.
tbh I'm not sure where class comes into it. Is Fellaini still under contract? How long left on that contract? Is it because people expect he wants to move and is saying nothing equivalent to class? If that's the case, who else is showing that type of class atm?
TBF, most players are able to show class in the 'not saying they want to move' department. Its reading between the lines that lets players down such as Felliani and Suarez.
He came out & said that his destiny remains with Everton. Also, that all the stories linking him with a move to United with Moyes were baseless & Moyes leaving made no difference to him. He didn't have to say anything, he could have lifted his skirts to United or whoever, but he chose not to, which in my book is class. None of which means he'll still be with us come Sept btw, but it makes a refreshing change from some of the excuses & foot stomping you see from players who fancy a move....
