The Peter Schmeichel statement was an eloquent piece of diplomacy, but the underlying message was that although Kasper loves the Leicester fans he is excited by the prospect of playing under Steve Bruce in the EPL. In a situation like this a player has to show great respect to his existing club, even to suggest it's hard to leave, while slowly easing out of the door. Every Leicester fan knows how pissed off and frustrated Schmeichel got every time you had a bad result last season. That's because he's probably your most ambitious player and he knows he's good enough for the prem and what's more I suspect at 26 he will be desperate for it now.
