Can only assume that Benteke would be bought using money from the Suarez deal - else can't see why we'd be interested. I'd like Benteke, but can't see him working too well with Sturridge - Danny isn't the best wide forward imo, he's better up top same as Benteke

 

This is true. I know we joke about Neymar a lot but that type of player is pretty much what we need, someone who can work wonders out wide, behind the main striker. It is pretty clear Sturridge is best off the shoulder of the last defender.

Tbf, we only talk about players like Robben because of RHC! I, for one, don't believe we can attract any 'big' players in our current position. We need to be looking at teams from Spain/Germany/Italy who are mid table but have a quality player who we could nab on the cheap. Aspas looks like one of those players so far and judging by his game last night. Benteke would make sense therefore, but the PL tax would skyrocket his price - plus he's only had one good season here...rings a few bells.

Also, the guy that RHC knows has only spoken to BR so it is a target and nothing else. The selling club, player and agents might not be keen
