Speaking of top managers of top clubs, I see Jackett is the new manager of Wolves

What do people think, will the step up from Millwall to a League 1 club be too bigger jump for him? Will he be able to cope with the much greater expectations?

Arsenal are going backwards under Wenger, his transfer policy is a joke. Again he's looking a young players from the French league with very little experience. He will sell off some big names this summer and they'll end up 5th. Hopefully it will be the back of Wenger in England I'm sick of him and his transfer policy.

The Scousers might be the surprise package of the year if Rogers buys the right player but he's not got Suarez for a long time so it might hamper their progress.

As for Wolves feel a bit sorry for them they couldf have got a bigger/better name for the club but the owners are uselss, They should never have sacked McCarthy and they shouldn't have touched Saunders with a six foot Barge pole.

Doubts about "fitness", and other words such as tiredness and fatigue, all sound much better excuses than simply not being good enough.

Regarding Wenger's transfer policy, I feel it may be a bit of a harsh view on the manager, after all the club cannot compete with scum, Man City and Chelsea, not to mention other top clubs in Europe, for the best signings. It's like if McDermott carries on the trend of bringing in mediocre Championship players from mediocre clubs, the blame won't be aimed at him, instead it will be those above him.

    No I'm not being harsh

He has the money there to spend. Arsenal have said this over and over again but he chooses not to spend it. He would rather buy inexperience kids or bring young foreign talent up through the youth system. He got £80 million from the sales of Nasri, RVP and Fabregas and spent it on the likes of Giroud and Santos.

The 'talent' he's brought in hasn't been good enough. Denilson was described as the only Brazilian who can't play football. Asharvin is useless, Giroud and Chamakh aren't good enough. Chamakh was a joke and Santos did you not hear the tirade Piers Morgan had on Talksport the other week.

You don't have to spend big to be successful, you have to spend wisely look at QPR and doing nothing but signing kids in their late teens and early 20s with out much experience constantly is not wise spending. You don't win anything with kids.

Wengers transfer policy is the problem with Arsenal and it won't get any better with him still being there.

I really don't care how Arsenal fare but they have just qualified for the CL for something like the 17th consecutive season so if that's failure I'll have some of that. Plus the fact their brand new sold out stadium has been largely paid for by Wenger's transfer dealings.

As for Piers Morgan the guy's an absolute twat, why would anyone care what he thinks? <doh>

I wonder if there's a thread on the Man Utd board about Barry McDermott, or whatever he's called, chances of success with you lot?

    Probably not.

Moyes will be a success IMO. Aside from the fact he's a half-decent manager, he'll also have Auld Baconface to call on if/when the **** hits the fan. The only reason they won the league this year was because everyone else was so appallingly bad. Look at their first-team squad - Welbeck, Ferdinand, Cleverley, Nani, Ashley Young, etc... All mediocre players. For me, the turning point was the game at Stamford Bridge when the ref (Clattenburg?) absolutely robbed the home side, who were far superior and who would have gone seven points clear at the top had they won. As it was, United claimed the three points and moved a point behind. The rest, as they say, is history...

Madrid, Barca and Bayern aside, there isn't a team in the world that can rival Manchester City in terms of squad quality. If Pellegrini can work the magic at the Etihad that I think he's capable of, they should sweep everyone aside next year. He also needs to replace ****e like Sinclair and Milner with some real talent, as squad depth has been a real problem for them.

After City, Chelsea probably have the best forward line in the country. Hazard, Oscar, Mata... With Mourinho looking like coming back, they should mount a far more serious title challenge. I probably shouldn't say it on a Leeds forum, but I actually don't mind them, so I'd love to see them there or thereabouts.

If Liverpool can add a decent centre-half, a central-midfielder and maybe a winger, there's no reason why they can't usurp the scum from Salford. Suarez will be vital, but it now seems like he'll be off to Real.

Arsenal are just an embarrassment. I got into football partly through watching them in the early-2000's, but that 8-2 at Old Trafford two years ago was their nadir, and Wenger should have been packing his bags. The celebrations after they qualified for the Champions League on the final day were cringeworthy. They're probably in a better position financially than any other team in the country, and yet the only players they ever seem to buy are pre-pubescent Africans and dodgy Frenchmen. That they keep qualifying for Europe shows how **** the standard is over here.

    Tottenham will finish 5th. Again.

    Precisely.

    This thread is ****ing laughable.

You might want to look at your own miserable failings before knocking the managerial appointment of most successful football club in England.

Moyes wouldn't wipe his arse on you lot and you know it.

    Bitter, sad and pathetic.

    Goodnight.

    It's simple, but accurate, observation.

    Nothing more, nothing less.

    Deal with it.
