http://www.swansea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=320901 Pity but obviously our little club is not ambitious enough
...you've missed an important point, bony. A move is "unlikely" because he wants Champions League football. Raised my expectations for a second. Yet more bad news.
Boy's a class player, and just proves how far we have come to be linked with a player of this calibre.
At least the kid is being honest rather than stringing people along to engineer a better move. Good luck to him.
At least we won't get anyone saying that Jenkins couldn't land a target.......will we? Not the Club's fault. It's his choice and you can't blame him. Good luck.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that he has met with Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup but says he wants Champions League football. The St Etienne striker is currently being tracked by fellow Premier League sides Spurs and Arsenal - and he has dreams of playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid. The Swans were linked with Aubameyang earlier this week and while he met with Laudrup recently, it appears that the 23 year-old Frenchman has set his sights on joining a Champions League club. Talking about his Real Madrid dreams, he said: 'I cannot fail with my decision, whatever I decide to do will not be a mistake,' 'The reflection will be long and I want to negotiate with the club that offers the best for me in every way. My dream is to one day play for Real Madrid.' It's no wonder that the player is being linked with a number of clubs after scoring 19 goals in 34 starts during 2012/2013. Regarding talks with Swansea City, he said that he has met the manager but says a move to South Wales looks unlikely. 'I have met with Michel Laudrup, they have a good project, but I need Champions League to progress.' Laudrup appears to be ambitious in his Summer transfer targets as he looks to build a strong squad for next season's Europa League campaign. Much has been said this week regarding his future at the club as rumours suggest that Laudrup and the board have different ideas regarding transfer funds this Summer. Laudrup is hopeful that the club stand by their promises that funds will be available to him in pre-season to strengthen the squad to prepare for the added pressure of European football. I hear messi has chatted to laudrup...shall we give jinx more credit for that or shall we say its about time he realized we are a premiership club and we need to act like one...
Oh dear. Now you're becoming predictable Dai. This striker is being chased by clubs in the CL, and in case you hadn't noticed we ain't in it mate. You gonna blame Jenkins for that too? Don't be ridiculous.
I do like the honesty of the lad wanting to play Champions League football, nothing wrong with ambition. Good luck to the lad I say.
More than ever , we need our board of directors and Mike Laudrup to be on the same page now. The clocks ticking and we appear to be in a strong position to secure signings . The club have just had a momentous centenary year and worked damn hard to win a major honour. Let's build and strengthen on the playing front and give 2013/14 our best footballing shot again. The silence is deafening
Has been said on another thread but think it merits repeating; all this 'Laudrup discontent' is stemming from the Evening Post's desire to sell newspapers! Believe that Laudrup is sensible enough to see that the fact we are struggling to sign these so called targets we have been linked with has nothing to do with Huw or the board; Aspas - Liverpool, a bigger club, have come sniffing around. Lukaku - New manager and hoping to break into the first team on a regular basis. Aubameyang - If he has his mind set on bigger things, nothing Huw can do to change his mind. Kone - Waiting to see if Martinez goes to Everton, nothing Huw can do about that either. The EP state that 'Laudrup is privately unhappy' but don't cite any sources to back up this claim; they have not spoken to the manager or the board about this 'issue', but still print it regardless. Now Laudrup may be unhappy with the situation, or he may not be, we don't know and neither do the sensationalists at the post - but saying 'we don't know' doesn't sell newspapers! Remember when we were linked with Henri Lansbury and the EP printed the headline 'Henry coming to Swansea!' - an allusion to Thierry Henry - the misspelling of the surname a small price to pay for a few more sales of their rag! So let's wait and see - I don't know what the situation is between Laudrup, his agent and the board, but more importantly neither does the Evening Post no matter how much they want us to believe that they have their fingers on the pulse! They are just a little local newspaper trying to shift their little local newspapers!
I'm glad he didn't join , can you imagine it ? You'd have to have an extension a la Kenny Everetts general to have his name on your shirt http://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/i...i=11rksjldr&.crumb=WEwfxEITJ6V&fr=yfp-t-702-s
Agree we are only in the European Cup , but mind you isn't everybody ..... no wait a minute not everybody is are they Dai ?
Mikra, I like the sound of this Cornelius. Do you think there's any substance to this rumour and do you think he would cut it?
And thats why i will defend martinez, rodgers and anyone else who wants to move up the ladder at the time of leaving....No difference is there..
