I agree with OLM, I suspect £2.5million fee will about do it, there will probably be some add ons involved if Kasper helps us secure our Premier League status. You know yourselves that £4million is very overpriced for a player in his last year of his contract and inexperienced in the Premier League. I'd say £2.5mill and its as good as done. But hey, who are we to know!

2.5M wont cut it. Our owners wont be interested in losing our best player for peanuts. We will be best of keeping him for the promotion push and risk losing him for nothing

We havent lost a player that we wanted to keep since we got relegated 5 years ago

I can't see us selling for £2.5m. We will not be selling any of our players below estimated value - there's no need. We paid £1.4m for him two years ago and he's improved no end since then (ask the Leeds fans!). I would also be very surprised if he wants to go to a club that must be the odds-on favourites to go down next season - only likely to damage his reputation (although he would at least be first choice). I'm sure he'd rather stay with us until we are promoted or a decent Prem club comes in for him. Also can't see Nigel doing business with Hull. Strange things do happen in football - but this would be among the most unlikely.

You've already told us you want £3.75m, which means you'd take £3m and £2.5m is close enough.

I suspect Nigel is already compiling a list of possible replacements.

Similarly I can't see us selling for that price - we would find it difficult to find an adequate replacement for that, so why not just keep him for next season - if we go up then he doesn't move anyway.

Also disagree with Strov - currently he's better than Butland by some distance.

One point I don't agree with is that "Nigel won't do business with Hull" - frankly that's bollox - they are no longer rivals so the only justification he could have would be his pride / ego - and that ain't gonna wash with hard nosed businessmen like our owners - ultimately, if they want to sell, that's it, end of. My 'crumb of comfort' is just that - these guys are very accomplished businessmen and will not sell prime assets cheaply.

It dont work like that. After Svens trolley dash the owners will see Kasper as a way of clawing back some of the money he blew

4M will be the lowest we sell for

If Kasper wants out then your hand is forced and you'll get what you can for him.

Might be £4 million, might be £2.5 million.

Fact is no ****er knows but like I say once a player decides he wants to leave it's pretty much game over.

He might not want to leave, then again he might.

I've just read this post back and I'm struggling to see why I wrote it and what the point of it is?

No-one will pay that for a player they can sign for free at the end of the season. He's in the last year of his deal FFS! Also the club will have to reduce the wage bill drastically to comply with FFP. Wake up and smell the beans!

You'll be losing him for nothing at the end of the season unless he agrees a new deal, on reduced terms, in the face of premiership interest....

FFP means you can't compete with premiership wages and not get a fine and embargo anymore.

Also, ask yourself why we would be opening the bidding at the lower end of the scale? Hardly as if Steve Bruce and Schmeichel Snr don't go back a long way is it? Their kids grew up together in Manchester!

FFP doesnt mean that at all. Its just means you can only spend within your means. Our owners can invest alot through King Power and we probably make the most money through sponsorships in the league with all the Thai sponsorships. The owners can still invest 6M a season.

If we clear Beckford, Danns, Gallagher, Wellens, St. Ledger and Konchesky off the books it would allow us to off Kasper more money then he is currently on to keep him here. As of yet everything is pure speculation other then the quotes from Kasper saying he is happy here and there is no rush for the prem.

If rumours are true we still in talks with Bolton over Beckford, Wellens is going to Donny and St. Ledger might be off the Wednesday

If Kasper does leave here I highly doubt it will be until late June/July anyway as he is going to weight up his options.

Regardless of how long Kasper has left on his contract he is still under contract and Leicester City hold the cards. His 2nd name will ensure scouts from around Europe will have kept tabs on him so dont think because you are the first to make a move you are the only ones interested

I'm sure we'll pay what we have to. It's called negotiation....

If no other club comes in, 2.5m will probably do it.

FFP means your spending is linked to club turnover. Owners cannot just throw money at the team in the form of gifts or interest free loans any more.

You really think Leicester's club turnover plus £6m is going to be anywhere near any premiership club turnover (or even recently relegated championship) club turnover? There is also a UEFA warning been issued over inflated sponsorship deals where owners companies sponsor the clubs....

Also, who will match the wages your dead-wood are currently on? You'll either be stuck with them or be left subsidising their contracts in order to move them on.

I doubt we are the only one's interested, but I also doubt he'll be considered a number 1 at many other premiership or top European clubs due to his relative lack of top level experience. I think he'll want to play regularly instead of being a no2.

I doubt he'll be with you next season, and I think we have a decent chance of landing him or we wouldn't be bidding. Agents usually talk first.

King Power sponsor the stadium and shirts, the owners and do what Man City did and pay themselves vast amounts of money to get around FFP.

FFP is very good in theory, but I dont think it will work in practice

If you're not ITK then how do you know your owners won't accept £2.5M?
