Ah cheers Sticko. You, ROTO, Master, Bob have provided a hatful over the months, haven't you?!

Some of the winners you lot find are quite something.

There's always someone who will add some great opinions to the debate, so I'm sure the forum will continue being high quality.

    Bob <laugh> yee haaaa!

    Take it easy lads :)

Nah you start slow to see if they will or won't settle and then wind it up big time in the middle of the race. It was fantastic race tactics and I expect that if DA had settled then Flying The Flag would have taken it up and made it a proper test of stamina. That said the front three home all look to have 2mile pedigrees.

I like Ballydoyle. We'd have 'enjoyed' a 7 runner Derby without them.

I don't know anyone "got lucky"...DA wasn't good enough and that is the blunt truth...the fact he pulled and couldn't adapt is a flaw.

He won a poor guineas and was exposed today.

Anyway well done to the winner..shame we're talking about an also ran as if something out of the ordinary happened that prevented him being crowned.

Not sure Stick this is a B'doyle obsessed board...reasonable cross section of opinions.

I can tell you that criticism of the horse you refer to from last year will not be tolerated!!...that much has been clear for some time...best not to mention the serial criminal who trained it either.

The problem I have with this is that Bolger obviously didn't want to go to the Derby, but Godolphin are so obsessed by the race that they ran a miler in it and possibly ruined the horses career. I am not a Ballydoyle fan, but they made the race interesting by taking him on in such a manner.

Well done indeed to the winner. The yard didnt even know it was their best horse! Maybe, maybe not!

Poor Guineas apart from the winner Dex surely, you cant believe that he is now a poor horse after todays race, are you going to nail your colours to the mast and tell us if this was a good Derby?

There is no such thing as Goldophin...only Sheikh Mohammed.

I made the same point on the Derby thread and alluded to the fact that the same person ran his champion sprinter Ajdal in the Derby.

Bolger has to sell horses,he has openly said this, and won't disagree with his chief patron. His opinion doesn't matter when SM is in town..sort of a trait despot's have I believe.

It's a real pity that Sheikh Mo doesn't actually know what's going on his yards eh LOL

I don't think it was Stick given that the horse who finished second is a complete boat.

Time will tell though and any unbeaten colt has to be given the benefit of the doubt...just like DA was until today.

I just wonder if his generation has caught up on him given his March 2-y-o debut...not much more to come perhaps from DA.

I think we may have bought into the Bolger hype which would have made even Coolmore and the ghastly arabs blush...he was apparently "still awesome" last week....complete b******s

Back to a mile Dex with a strong pace I am sure (nearly sure) that we will see a different beast altogether.

The proximity of so many horses to the winner and some exposed types at that suggests that this is not a vintage crop!

I made the point about it possibly being a weak 2000 last week. I don't agree he's to be written off after one poor run when there are a fair few excuses.

It'll be interesting to see how he does against Magician if they face off.

Ryan Moore wins the derby then goes to Lingfield for one ride, if it was me I'd be giving the ride up and celebrating

Agree Stick...far too early to write him off and back to his optimal trip he will be a force.

They aren't machines but he will be on a recovery mission.
