    He'll earn £38,356 a day, £1,598 per hour, £26 per minute, 44p a second - Without paying tax.

    No wonder he's gone there.

The man is still an idiot.

To those Celtic legends, this is what an unambitious move looks like.

Didn't he have to move there though?

Isn't he owned by a third party and they basically decided where he went?

Monaco and PSG have some serious coin to throw about at the moment.

They do get fairly small crowds - but I guess living in a tax haven brings some comfort.

i thought that they were poorly supported but i think thats down to the transient population, not many people probably regard themselves as Monacan (which seems to be a word) !

Their ground only holds 18,500 and they averaged 5,293 last season, less than half of what Bradford averaged in League 2 and less than Chesterfield and Conference outfit Luton.

I can't help but feel he went for economic reasons ... <whistle>

To be fair if you were offered such obscene amounts of money without tax to live in one of the nicest places in the world it would be pretty hard to turn down. For Ibrahimovic the move to France has not exactly been detrimental as well, any top club would still take him. For Falcao it might just be a case of saving up a chunk of cash and having some fun before he moves to a big league.

He's 27, this is the pinnacle of his career, he will peak within the next 2 years and he's spending them at a tiny club in a crap league. He could have gone there when he was at least into his 30's and spent the best days of his career at the very top.

The difference between Falcao and Ibra though, is that Ibra has been at the top, and has been to many of the top leagues and clubs - Ajax, Juve, Inter, Barca, Milan, and won major trophies with them all. Whereas Falcao has been at Porto and Atletico, not really truly big clubs, although he has won trophies with them.

Falcao could have easily gone somewhere where he would be at one of the top sides in Europe as well as earning a massive sum of money, but he got too greedy. Monaco aren't in any European tournament at all, just the French league and cups. That is a massive step back. At least Atletico had the chance to offer him Champions' League football.
