PHW took over as chairman from his father as chairman because at the time the Hill-Woods were the major shareholders in the club. They now have a minute shareholding and no power.I don't know if PHW has son's but if he does there is no way a Hill-Wood will ever become chairman again. The Hill-Wood association with Arsenal will die with Peter.

Dein no longer has any association with Usmanov though as he left Red and White holdings.

    I didn't know that.

That changes things then. If Dein is a realistic option, then we have to take it. He may be a little "dodgy" in some people's eyes, but there's no denying he knows football.

And he's the only guy Arsene will listen to, which may help the footballing side of the club too.

Dein will only become involved with AFC again if Kroenke lets him.The role of chairman is purely as a figurehead and he has no power on the board, all he does is chair meetings.

He was only with R&W holdings for a short time, which looks like even he realised it was a mistake to be honest. But he was ousted from Arsenal for trying to bring kronke in and then PHW embraced him, so you can see why Dein tried to outmanouevre the board.

Dein is Wenger's right hand man. There's no secret about how much they admire and respect each other, and together they brought the glory days back to Arsenal. Remember it was Dein who brought Wenger to Arsenal, when everybody else was saying 'Arsene who ?'

Their formula works because they are both on the same page. They are both hungry for success at Arsenal and there's no reason to suggest that they won't do that again if they worked together. For me Dein would be the perfect appointment really. <ok>

He was with Red & White just long enough to make £75 million on his shares.

<laugh> True, silly **** should never have sold them to Usmanov. I guess he thought R&W would be able to mount a takeover bid . . until PHW and co instigated the lockdown agreement. He definitely backed the wrong horse there.

I'm gonna get you an 'I love DD' T-shirt made up Cym <ok>
