"We would need someone who knows the team well and how to play the Swansea way better than most". That person is already at the Club --- Gary Monk.
Wieghorst IS positioning himself in dansish sportsnewspaper today: Headline reads: "Going to Swansesa is the beginning of something BIG" Main points are: * he's NOT going to be permanent assistant for ML * he wants to manage a club i a major leaugue * he's learning spanish to communicate better w the spanish players! * he sees working under ML as a career move, a learning proces towards taking the final step to managing a reputable club This could be the next manager in Swansea in fx 2 years, not if ML leaves now...
Wasn't worried about ML until this morning .... Radio Wales didn't run the story of him leaving. That said I'm reassured that Wieghorst could be a replacement (preferable to some very expensive and possibly not suited to us big time Charlie).
our club is acting foolish and amateurish. Dont they realize that preparation and forward thinking is what is needed..laudrup has done his bit he has his targets and is very confident of bringing then to south wales. of course he is angry he has already lost one of his targets and more likely to follow if the club dont get their act together...
Weighorst would be a good shout. He fits in with bold appointments from left field we've made in recent years. Just about all of our recent managers since Flynn have gone on to do well and manage decent clubs. I mean who was Martinez or Brenda before we gave them a shot? Jackett looks set for the Wolves job too which will be richly deserved. No doubt Laudrup will manage a huge side in 1-2 years time (Real Madrid kind of huge). Souza had a shot at managing a club with bigger resources but fecked it up but that's his fault - we gave him the shot as a manager in the first place. My bet for replacement (aside from the Weighorst idea that I could certainly live with) would be Zola just like Phil said (in big **** off font!). He plays the right way and has learned so much this season. Also he is a big name from his playing days which attracts talent in it's own right. Also he is unassuming and handles press conferences/media duties well.
monk would be ideal if he has all his badges, nobody knows the club better than him....he could be another Martinez but better prepared...
I wont, the blokes a fool. but thats only me expressing my opinion which in case anyone forgets is my right innit
