This may affect Hull City considerably.

I'm not sure what the following is supposed to mean though - sales and turnover is the same thing:

"Accounts posted this week at Companies House reveal sales in 2012 were £86.7m – down from £159m in 2011.

Turnover at the Melton-based generator maker also fell, from £185m in 2011 to £100m."

My guess is when they say "sales" they mean profits.

So what ? We are currently in hard times of austerity especially in britain so this comes as no surprise to me.

It would be more of a worry if times were good. Over spending is the curse of the stupid as far as City are concerned.

Allam's sales are practically all in the Middle East. Even if it was in the UK then 50% drop would be exceptional.

Possibly they separate Sales and Servicing, Rental income etc.

Servicing and rental of generators (if they do that) is still sales. I doubt whether property rental income is signifcant.

There's got to be some sort of income that they're not classing as sales though, the first figure can't be profits, there's no way a manufacturing company made a profit of £86.7m on a turn-over of £100m.

    Good old HDM!

When they said "sales" they meant Cost of sales.

Profits reduced from £19M to £10m.

Maybe I should, I regularly get power cuts when it rains heavily.

You can buy them from Aldi from time to time.

In the middle section with all the **** that looks like a jumble sale.

    FACT.

Sales will increase when the next wave of instability hits the middle east.

Sales have decreased mainly due the instabilities. Investment is falling dramatically as it is unsafe in many areas, especially at night. My family's company is based in Libya and we have pretty much ground to a halt due to the problems. These dictators may not be nice people but they offered a lot more peace and stability to the countries than the militias currently fighting turf wars in the streets.

I would have thought it would be the other way around with the instability causing problems for the regular electricity supply meaning people have to rely on generators more?
