When I was a kid we used to go from Neath for a trip to Mumbles and always called into Bartons for chips - sad to hear it isnt as it was.

Caeriethin Chippy was great when I was there - Rossi's was good - only posh people went to the Mumbles - best treat was sausage and chips before the match in any one of these
    Upstairs caff in top Woolworth
Peter Jones serve yourself or if feeling flush the Windsor
Good breakfast in the Kardoma - when we were over last we went there every day - by the third day the owners were asking where we were going that day - told us their favourite beaches , pubs etc - my missus and kids thought it was brilliant to find such friendly people.

I think we're singing from the same hymn sheet. I meant the one in the industrial estate (opposite the car sales)

Biggest disappointment for me was Harry Ramsdens in the designer outlet place in Bridgend , I had a few chips and binned them, horrible food

What about about takeaways ? Favourite Indian is the Shahi in Trallwn or the Cottage in ponty. Chinky is the one near to Skewen police station.

Absolutely right pal delicious stuff and Lumber, the Windsor that's the name I couldn't remember, sitting down, silver service what an establishment ! When Never asked about rissoles being sent to him it reminded me of when I used to visit Newcastle to see the mad wing of the family I always and to take with me Welsh Butter and ***gots, bloody hundreds of 'em. So I used to put my order in with a certain Lady at Swansea Market, a week before, freeze them and take them up. On arrival the family would rifle my packages before even a word of blood welcome .......

I suppose we could organise an aid drop to darkest Lloegr .......

I had the same thing way back in the day with relatives in London. Had to take them Eynon's pies (Uplands) and custard slices from the same shop.

In our family it was Evans' pies (from Taibach, Port Talbot) that used to get sent out everywhere. I've got a wealthy uncle in Surrey with a freezer full of them, I imagine him dishing them out to visitors and them thinking "what the ****? it's just a pie!".
Is the best pie though :)

IMO the best takeaway or sit down restaurant in Swansea is 'Garruda' on St. Helen's Road. Indonesian.
If you like hot food get yourself a Beef Rendang from there. **** me, it's heaven.
