Things on the Gedo front seem oddly quiet. I know he's had an op but the club/ Bruce have given very little indication of what they're thinking. On the other hand, perhaps their silence speaks volumes, particularly given that Gedo seems to have made no secret of his desire to return.
I noticed that OLM in another thread about a week ago or thereabouts, stated with some certainty that he didn't believe we'd see him again. Not sure whether that indicated some kind of inside knowledge or a personal view about the player's ability.
Just seems to me that, when fit, he was a very able player that is at least worth giving a chance at being in the squad. He seems to have been forgotten in the excitement of discussing other rumours.
    Thoughts?

I wouldnt expect him back. I dont see him as 'starter quality for the Prem' and we'll already have Fryatt and Mclean (unless we can shift the latter) to be back up behind a new striker. His injury really wont have helped his cause either.

Sweet Jesus H Christ. You mean the club, and Steve Bruce, haven't been in touch directly with you to let you know what's going on?

I hate that they treat the fans like this, no wonder people go off and support Man U, Liverpool etc, those clubs always keep their fans in the loop on all behind the scenes signings.

We should start a protest, we're not mushrooms to be kept in the dark and fed **** when they can be arsed. Although I am a fungi.

Well "Happy", though you don't seem that happy really - I wasn't suggesting the club should let me (or anyone else for that matter) know what's going on, or that I was in any way displeased about not knowing; I was simply ruminating on what the lack of comment might mean and wondering what others might make of it.

Nowt personal fella. It's that time of year we see endless threads started based on nothing approaching a fact, which then suddenly get talked about in terms that suggest it's true, which causes peopleto start calling the owners, or MD or players etc into question when in fact, it was all based on conjecture.

For the record, I don't clap much either. It's an ironic name purely for this forum.

Probably means that the club thinks we really don't need to know whats going on at this point and they will make an announcement when something gets sorted.
Nowt wrong with us discussing amongst ourselves though, we all love a good conspiracy theory :)

Yeah, fair enough Happy. I'm not really one who needs a replacement drug while waiting for the new season though. Mind you, well...no we won't go there.
The intention of the thread was really more about what people think of Gedo as a possible Premiership player.

The reason I said I didn't expect to see Gedo return, was simply because he's untested at Premier League level, he's just had an operation and wouldn't be match fit for about six months and I simply think there's too many things working against him.

His injury is unfortunate, but I'd hazard a guess that most of our signings this season won't be Premier League tested. I'd let him have a couple of months recovery and then sign him on loan in January, with a view to a permanent if he performs well. That way it keeps Al-Ahly happy for a bit and will provide us with cover in January if we have injuries etc.
