WTF.... Who has arranged this then ? Both the Winterton and Hull City websites are showing that both games will be played on the same night at the same time. <doh>

Hull City will send a team over the Bridge to Winterton with a mixture of first team squad players and kids. The same night as the Billy Bly Memorial Trophy match @/with North Ferriby.

Both traditionally have been monday and tuesday nights as pre-season starts. So unless common sense is applied fans will have to make a choice. Utterly disgusting as i would have done both.

Hope that someone gets this msorted out. ;)

imo...It would make better commercial sense to play the North Ferriby game on a sunday afternoon. The 14th July when a much bigger crowd would turn up. Lets hope that something gets sorted and better than what it appears to be now. <doh>

Not often I agree with you tickles, but if they were on separate nights there's no reason why we still couldn't play 2 completely different teams as we have over recent years and there are a lot of fans that would have done both. Shame for Winterton and Ferriby as well since they'll lose money, especially Winterton as the lesser attractive game and the added cost of bride tolls for city fans.

Not sure full capitals were needed in the title though...

Indeed that is the whole point. I liked the idea of each player getting 45mins in both games like in the past.

I hope that it gets changed. North Ferriby on a sunday afternoon would be perfect. Sunday lunch and then footie in the sun.

I whole heartedly agree, I guess they are looking to minimise the time used on these friendly games, it strikes me that they are just trying to fulful a commitment. However as you say it will hit both teams coffers, as well as people that want to watch both games can't.

I think they did this about 12 years ago if I'm mistaken...not sure it was Winterton City played at the same time as Ferriby but I think they split the First team up and mixed them with the juniors.

Agree with Tickles, it surely can't be that hard to organise on consecutive nights, since we've managed it for about the last 10 years. Shame for Winterton in particular since most people will go to the Ferriby game rather than them.

If your going to be pedantic about capitals perhaps you could explain what BRIDE tolls are.

In my experience, bride tolls are normally at least £600k.

The only reason I can think that they did this was because we used to play one day after the other, so we could only ever play 80 minute games. Maybe SB will put his first team (and the best youth players) out against Ferriby and then send the squad players and reserves to Winterton.

I expect Ryan Kendall to score against us, think he finished with as many goals as games he played last season. Which in any division is impressive.

I do most pre-season games home and away, have done for years, though I'm not entirely sure why, they're normally terrible.

In recent years, I went to Edinburgh to watch the Hearts game(which was terrible), I went to Portugal to watch the Sunderland game(which was even worse), but I've never once been to Winterton.

It seems that will continue again this season.

I went for the first time last year and really enjoyed it. The pies weren't up to much though, I saw them take one out of the ASDA packet and put it in the microwave!

I always go to Ferriby and Winterton, they're really good games. Like you, every time I've been to other pre-season games they've been the worst matches ever. Norwich last year was awful but the worst was Sheff Wednesday in 2009. We had Jerome Thomas on trial who had impressed in other pre-season games and we cancelled the trial before that game, Sam Ricketts signed for Bolton that day and we hadn't yet signed anyone of note that summer, so the team that played was just the dregs from the season before and it was shocking.

It appears that the reason why Hull City are playing both North Ferriby and Winterton on the same night is because the squad are flying out to the summer training camp in Portugal on the tuesday. Winterton had 2 choices so they took the obvious one. Now sadly its the fans who have to make the choice of which game to attend.

I am leaning towards the Winterton game at the moment, as the North Ferriby game will appear on Tiger Player at some point.

Wouldn't count on it, apart from interviews and matches the club haven't bothered with Tigers Player for months.

Tiger player does need an overhaul without a doubt along with the Tigers website. That should be changed back to how it used to be imo.

But i still think that the Winterton game will get my attendance. Can go to North ferriby anytime.
