That's funny. Tommy was at a friend's house having dinner the night he learned he was sacked. He spent most of the night there in fact.
I didn't know that. I remember McCann being booed unfurling the flag - in the folk around me it was one teenage guy sitting behind us and my dad turned to him and went "you've got nae idea, wee man, what that man's done for us - now sit back in your seat that the man built for you, watch the flag unfurl that he won for us and shut the **** up"
Tommy Burns or Fergus McCann? I think I'd prefer to stick up for Tommy Burns'. **** the business men I more concerned with the football. Nothing against McCann but no way are you getting a stand named after you, that's should be reserved for football man. Name the corporate boxes after him, there for kid-on Celtic fans anyway.
He's got a point. But Tommy Burns didn't save Celtic. A few hardnosed ****s led by McCann did. Without him, we wouldn't have a team to support. Brother Walfrid never played for the team but he's got a statue and a restaurant named after him.
No problem with naming things after him but not the stand, I also appreciate what he done for the club by making it a modern business but I'm in it for the football!
Yeah **** businessmen ...Without McCann, Celtic would have died! But yeah, **** him! He deserves a vast amount of credit and I'd name the stadium after him. Without him you'd have no football to worry about!
