What do reckon is the best chippy in the Swansea area?. I always loved Dick Barton's down the Mumbles. Generous portions, nice crispy fish, loads of chips. Wish I hadn't started this, I want Fish and Chips now!

the Argyle Fish Bar for me.
    On Argyle Street, Sandfields.

Best chips and rissoles imo and always surprised when a meal for 2 or 3 comes in at approx. £5

Francos on the beachfront in Port Talbot do great chips. I hate it when a chippy rushes the chips because there is a queue building - they end up being under cooked and too hot to eat. Never the case in Francos - always done to perfection. Downside is their fish. Like most places it seems the fish is overwhelmed by the batter. Once you manage to break through it you find a skinny greasy fish inside. Rossi's Fish is way better but still not amazing.
If any chip shop doesn't have Heinz tomato ketchup - walk away. It's a crime in my eyes.

Haven't had the chance to visit Swansea in years, but is Mr D's still in Uplands? Used to love them from there. Nice and fluffy yet crispy on the outside.

I might have to argue with you on the ice cream front. :emoticon-0116-evilg I did always like Bayliss Ice Cream as well.

Love Rossi's home made steak pie with lots of chips and a bowl of gravy. Fabulous.
