    This cannot be done now. Financial rules are tight. Clubs can only spend there profits. The owners cannot use their own money in the transfer market.

    Ah, I acknowledged their use of 'Spanish giants' as stepping stones <whistle>

    It can, holding companies and all that, set up a new one or invest in one you already own (John Henry must have lots) then 'sponsor' LFC, technically won't be owned by the same people and as LFC is 'owned' by FSG and not John Henry, complications will see it overlooked.

    Real Madrid are prepared to offer Luis Suarez a £140,000-a-week, four-year contract and are confident they will be able to sign the Liverpool forward, 27, for £20m plus Spanish striker Jose Callejon, 26.

    If the release clause is £40m, offering us money plus a player enables us to reject it. Even if they offered £3,999,999.99 plus Ronaldo, in theory we could reject it because the release clause has not been activated.
