My Granddaughter and the dance school she attends are hoping to enter the competition held on the above date. They will be travelling from Inverness, and I am enquiring how best to get to the KC from Wetherby services. I know they'll travel the M62, but will they have to travel into Hull to get to the stadium? Is there an alternative route is basically the question I am asking? Thanks for any info you can offer.

This is going to sound really churlish, but you literally just follow the brown signs for the KC Stadium with the football on.

M62, A63 into Hull, turn off for the Hospital and you're pretty much there.

    This'll help more.

    From the West
    • Approach Hull from the M62, which leads straight onto the A63.
    • Continue on the A63 under the Humber Bridge. The road continues into the A63 Clive Sullivan Way.
    • Continue along Clive Sullivan Way. Turn off onto the slip road just before the fly-over, sign-posted ‘Local Traffic/Infirmary’ and for KC Stadium.
    • At the roundabout, take the second exit "Rawling Way".
    • At the next main set of traffic lights (and with the Hospital in front of you), take a left turn onto A1105 Anlaby Road. Continue over the fly-over. At the foot of the fly-over, take a left turn into Walliker Street.
    • Once on Walliker Street, take the next immediate left turn onto Carnegie Street, and then another left turn onto Perry Street. Follow Perry Street around and under the flyover. Once under the flyover, take a right turn and the Stadium’s car parks are located in front of you.

Once you are Eastbound on the M62, you basically just carry on right in to Hull, no turnings.

Turn off just before the City Centre, you come to a bend and a flyover - just slip off before the flyover. The signposts should make it straightforward.

Thanks gentlemen; I'll pass the information onto my daughter, and she can download the link. The granddaughter is 9 years old, and I know she will appreciate the help you have offered. Once again, thank-you.

And mostly boring motorway / dual carriageway driving. I'd just go on the A82, turn onto the A9 and go back to Inverness (perhaps taking a detour to Braemar). Some nice scenic driving there.

@ Brady's bunch... it's about 420 miles. Done the west coast scenic; it was okay until that narrow run to Crianlarich; shocking road!
@ OLM... you have to wear a tu-tu and ballet pumps; you still want in?
@ ImperialTiger... The granddaughter loves the travelling, and I agree; Braemar is scenic
@ bigfattiger... I had to laugh at that. "GO GIRL!!!"

Can't say I have but, having looked at the distance, it seems quite do-able. I love it up around Glencoe. Drove from Aviemore to Portree in January. Just so much beautiful scenery up there. Last year I drove over to Loch Tay from Amulree. Saw two owls and a golden eagle in the middle of the day time.

I have since learned wellie boots are permitted in lieu if ballet pumps are in the laundry basket.

Edit; they must of course contrast the lycra tights.
