Colchester have completed the signing of 22 year old midfielder Eastmond from Arsenal. Does that mean J2O is another step further away from first choice at Colchester? J2O may not eventually come to us, but surely Colchester have sent a loud message to all those interested that he is available for transfer. He deserves our best wishes for getting us out of the mire, whichever decision he makes!
Agree. We've already got McChrystal, so if we get either Mildenhall or O'Toole that would be a good result. If O'Toole comes here it has to be because he wants to; with no regrets. His game depends upon 100% commitment. Anything less and he is far less effective.
I'm confident JW will find another midfielder if JJOT doesn't sign who will be just as good MM would of probably replaced him with chimp
I don't think we should be too concerned at the moment about the lack of news. It's pretty quiet all round as the holiday season for these guys is in place. I think there will be a increase in the activity at the start of July when tha transfer window opens and everyone will try to get their squads in place for the start of the pre-season preps. On the other hand J2O has to be realistic. He wasn't first choice last season at home and a new guy has arrived from Arsenal. So his options at Colchester look limited. He certainly used Rovers as a showcase for his talents last season. If that hasn't attracted other clubs interest, then so be it. It could be that there is business happening for these two players, offers here, offers there. I can see no harm for both of them in sitting out whatever deadline JW has given them to see what offers may arise. Let's be realistic one guy is young and ambitious and the other close to the end of his career. Both of them need to make the best decision for themselves. Bear in mind there is a vacancy for the no 1 shirt not too far away!
when o'toole joined he was amazing but near the end of his spell he wasnt that great. maybe so many games in a small period of time burned him out. who knows why he was so hot then pretty cold. but 1st half of his spell = yes get him back. 2nd half of his spell = maybe try someone else. give him a deadline to make his mind up and once its over then move on and look elsewhere. dont want another constable situation where we put all our eggs in 1 basket. i trust wardy to get it right.
O'Toole is probably a better fit with Rovers than anyone else at the moment. I think he should come back and help us get promoted A successful season at any level will pay dividends for him. He can definitely play at a higher level, but he's had a great spell with us and has still been in and out of the Colchester side.

Agree with CJS that OToole faded in the last few games mind you we picked up a few injuries in the midfield area and every players form tailed off. Difficult to be 24/7 all the time I still have faith that he is a part of the jigsaw, however we still require another player similar to him to challenge for the top 3. COR
