Kia Joorabchian says it is wrong to blame him for QPR's transfer record last season as he only represented one of the players they signed.
Joorabchian advises new Stoke boss Mark Hughes, who was sacked by QPR in November after 10 months in charge.

"I'm always interested to read or hear that I was responsible for so many of the players signed by QPR last season," Joorabchian told BBC Sport.
"In fact my company was only involved with the signing of one, (keeper) Julio Cesar."
QPR signed 16 players during Hughes' time in charge, and six more under his successor Harry Redknapp in the January transfer window.
The Hoops lost their first 12 games of the season - under Hughes' charge - and were relegated after finishing bottom of the Premier League table.
Although Joorabchian advises Hughes, who was named new Stoke boss on Thursday, he insists he does not drive the manager's transfer policy.
Meanwhile, the BBC's chief sports correspondent, Dan Roan, says a senior source at Stoke has told him Joorabchian played no part in negotiations for Hughes to become their manager.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hughes' QPR signings
    Nedum Onuoha, £2.5m
    Djibril Cisse, £4.2m
    Bobby Zamora, £6m
    Taye Taiwo, loan
    Samba Diakite, £3.5m
    Ryan Nelsen, free
    Andy Johnson, free
    Robert Green, free
    Park Ji-Sung, £2m
    Junior Hoilett, undisclosed
    Jose Bosingwa, free
    Julio Cesar, undisclosed
    Esteban Granero, £9m
    Fabio Da Silva, loan
    Sam Magri, undisclosed
    Stephane Mbia, undisclosed

I'm afraid I don't believe that though I will concede that might be due to my strong bias against anything to do with Hughes and Joorabchian. It must be perfectly possible for him to be involved in lots of hidden ways through intermediaries etc.

If I was in his situation, and I knew I was white as the driven snow, I'd keep a dignified silence and not try to justify myself??

We were **** but I don't recall us losing all of the first 12 games, just not winning any of them. Great journalism.

Very good point SB. That bit of sloppy journalism makes me doubt the veracity of the Joorabchian quotes.

On the day Hughes is announced, Kia says the QPR flops were all Hughes choice.

Anyone else think they've fallen out of love.

Public tiffs are so last season. **** off to the pair of them.

I think it's more the case that Stoke very wisely insisted that Joorabchian was to have no part of this particular "project". If Hughes is intended to be just a head coach, then why the **** would you choose Hughes who can't and doesn't coach. It's an odd appointment to say the least.

Amazing isn't it......for 7 months there's not a peep out of either Hughes or this guy, then lo and behold Hughes gets another PL gig and out of the woodwork comes his sidekick claiming "not me guv"......they really deserve each other.

Anyway on a lighter note time for TF to do a BOGOF aimed at our friends from the Potteries.....what do you reckon Buy Cesar get Boswingar Free.....

When you flood an industry full of young men with pretty basic education with the amount of cash football has seen over the last 20 years, carpetbaggers like this are the inevitable result.

Next to banking this has to be the worst regulated industry known to man, at all levels.

He says he advises Hughes. Well, it depends how many other advisers he has. If this guy is his only one then basically he is responsible. If Hughes has no idea who to look out for and his info is coming from Joorabchian, then there is a big influence. That's not clarified in the article. Just because his company didn't drive the deal, it doesn't mean he had no influence.

Besides, who cares. It's in the past now.

Hughes gets job at Stoke and all the talk is about QPR being a mess!!
Perhaps they should move on, accept they ****ed up, and focus on there new 'opportunity'.
Leave us to dig ourselves out of the mess you left behind, and quietly get on with what needs to be done.
Fed up with hearing about Hughes now, he's part of our history - I prefer to look forward.

Technically hes an "advisor" to loads of players even though he isnt their agent. I didnt even realise he was certified until he admitted he was Cesars agent.
