Is it just me or does every Summer feel like we're rebuilding instead of adding?..

 

This. Really was hoping this would be a big summer where we could keep our players and add some names and talent to really push on. Guess not. We should have a ton of money to play with and hopefully a lot more time to think about who to bring in.

 

For those who don't want to just look back a page or two for RHC info...

There are probably/certainly other threads for these snippets, but I thought I'd keep it in one place, unless you mods want to split it up and put it in the others. This is all from my mate who has just phoned me. Points will be numbered a la MITO.

1. Suarez wanting to leave has nothing to do with the rags. It's because we haven't got CL. In an interview in the Times a bit back, he said he doesn't read the papers here as he can't really understand them, but 'the lads' told him he was now getting a reasonable press (pre-biting). The quote was his own words, not his agent's. He wants Real and they will come for him.

2. He has a release clause of 40 million and Real will know this. So we are unlikely to get any more.

3. He'd be staggered if Alonso came back. This has not been mentioned by Rodgers.

4. Iago Aspas is happening. He's not sure about Luis Alberto as yet.

5. Eriksen wanted to come, but Rodgers dithered and Dortmund came in. He thinks he will now resign with Ajax.

6. He still can't tell me who 'the big one' is. He said, I'll deffo know him, and I won't be happy. He's a good player, but only when he wants to be. If we're 2 - 0 up, he'll play his socks off. If it's 0 - 0 on a cold wet day at Stoke, you won't even know he's on the pitch.

He'll let me know when he can tell me more.

Also mentioned Reina is pretty much a done deal with Barca, the board want Rodgers to get tier 1 players.

that's how the damn thing pasted, it was alright when i copied it, seems to have caught on a bit since then, £40 mill and Alonso, and to be honest i would be very happy with that,maybe £30 mill and Alonso not sure, hopefully we can get the £40 mill and Alonso.

For anyone who might be slightly superstitious, I've had some weird dealings with previous Fifa career modes and real life events, quite often I'll sign a player in career mode who'll then later on go on to join the club I signed him for.. (Sturridge was the latest one for that to happen to).

Anyway, I was messing around with Fifa a few days ago, tookover Real Madrid and swapped Higuain (+£10m) for Luis Suarez, I also signed Neymar (Weirdly they accepted a low £30m bid, pretty similar to the reported 30million euros Barcelona have splashed out on him..) but this was after it was confirmed he chose Barcelona. I pulled out of signing Gareth Bale because they asked for too much (£38.5m, which was high considering I got Neymar for £30m and Suarez for effectively £28m [Higuain was worth £18m]).

 

Suarez might be off or he might stay. Great stuff Really putting your neck on the line there.

 

Been told by a friend of the Carragher family who was at his retiring dinner last weekend that weve already lined up Begovic and hes ready to sign on, but its dependant on Reina leaving which looks likely but not 100% certain yet. This has apparently enraged Arsenal who thought they had Begovic, but somehow, according to my mate, we gazumped them? Dunno how???

Billy Hogan whose high up and loved within FSG is going to be put above Ayre as CEO, Ayre pissed. Hogan getting this role was always the plan and he's been groomed by JWH for this the last year or so. Seen this also confirmed today by Karlton on Twitter whose 100% on the money nearly all the time.

Atsu is close, as is that young Sporting CB whose fast as **** whose name I can't spell, Liori or Ilori, or something.

Papa has hit the skids as Schalke have suddenly decided they want 19m when we only value him at 12m and thought we had a deal. We won't pay that much as this knee injury he has has already meant 3 surgeries on it which is quite unusual for the type of injury he has.

As of this moment he doesn't believe there is any deal between RM and Suarez and still expects him to say. Suarez was at carra's do and was telling the supporters there (friends/family of Carra and his family of which my mate is one which is why he was there) he wants to stay and has renewed his box. Jay72 on twitter whose well connected has said he's been told the same today when he did some digging.

Downing is considering an offer from Fulham, although reluctantly but we've said he can go if he wants and he want the game time next season he's had this season.

my take on it is there is interest and if needed be an offer will be made by Real for this clause £40 mill quoted, the question is, does Suarez want to go or give us another season, i don't think Liverpool want rid its just whether he wants the move or not, hope he gives us another season, he can leave then hopefully having helped us get a top 4 finish for next season and be some way to thank the fans for sticking by him.

 

Just been watching a few clips of this Luis Alberto from Barcelona on youtube (I know I know) but mainly just to understand what kind of player he is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h60Oz0_OrO8

Lots of clips of him scoring so more of a forward than Xavi/Iniesta but also plenty of him linking play up outside the box (guess your typical Barcelona type forward). Likes to run and people and has a bit of tricky about him so from that point of view similar to Coutinho but with maybe more scoring ability. Also looks like he can put in a brilliant cross cutting on from the left and curling balls in towards the danger zone or with free kicks/corners from that side as well.

 

Some beautiful threaded passes aswell,and certainly knows where the onion bag is.

 

I just don't understand why the owners don't go out and spend money on guaranteed success, lets look at the possibilities:

Sure a few of them players have just signed for new clubs but I'm sure if we did things the right way and offered them each £300,000 a week they'd join, we'd win the league title, be European Champions and we'd live happily ever after.

That isn't my best team I can come up with either but I thought I'd keep my suggestion realistic

 

I'm suspecting you started out serious but quickly realised it was fantasy so decided to make it dreamophonic

 

Gomez for £40mil? Ridiculous, Bayern will probably get rid for about £10 fiven his age!
