Awesome. Might be bullshit but **** it. I like hearing nice things.

Cwarr seems very confident of this whole deadline thing mind. He said earlier on that the deadline given by the club was Sunday, and according to him, Gervinho has responded and said yes. Would this Cwarr guy really fabricate an entire story about deadlines and about how Gervinho said yes? I can't see it happening unless Cwarr has genuine mental problems, or he's intentionally taking us all for a ride for his own entertainment.

PS: If we have signed Cabaye, perhaps that'e been a major influence in Gervinho looking in our direction?

    <laugh> Rep!

Cwar normally gets a few right per transfer window - Tiote, Ben Arfa, Gosling & Ireland and also Pardew, but also gets a fair few wrong.
Here's hoping his prediction about Gervinho is right...

    All these French players...

First Ben Arfa, then Abeid, now Cabaye, possibly Menez/Gameiro/etc etc...

Gonna have to get me one of these next season it seems...

What has happened here. I pop out for the evening and when I get back the depression seems to have lifted and been replaced by optimism?

Tiote's not been online for a few hours I don't think...

I went out too. Came back and most of the forum is on about Cabaye it seems...

Well hopefully he'll get lost and not find his way back here.

I'm not complaining mind hope the optimism lasts all summer. Cabaye sounds very good to me really hope we get confirmation from the club tomorrow! :)

Bloody loving the optimism. Better than the topics about Joey :(

Aye, reckon that if it IS true we'll be hearing about it in the next week or so from the club.

    Can't wait!

Hope so too. Not trying to sound wise after the event but I said a few days ago that I had a feeling the club were playing hard ball with Barton because they had realistic targets lined up that were good enough to replace him and would be on lower wages, meaning that they didn't have to agree his terms and be held to ransom over the length of the contract. Todays news/rumours seem to be pointing in that direction and indirecting that we have serious intent to sign some very decent players this summer.

Hope i'm not tempting fate here but my optimism is growing to the point where delusion may soon be appearing over the horizon! :)

Definitely. At least the bad Barton news is being counterbalanced by all this good Cabaye news!

Ssh.. don't mention optimism and delusion in the same sentence... or ANY sentence for that matter! ... Tiote may rear his head. we don't know where he's hiding

I'm still hoping that Barton and the club will come to an agreement, probably with Barton caving in and accepting a two/three year deal. Getting some good deals finalised early may help to convince him that he wants to stay and be a part of what is being built. It is probably too optimistic to think that Enrique might feel the same but I am holding onto a very small hope that he will if the players are really impressive.

Oops good thinking Batman ... you are right you never know where that hideous excuse of a wum might be hiding. I'm assuming it is past his bedtime though, i've noticed he doesn't seem to be on late in the day. His mum must tuck him in fairly early! :)
