Oh, definitely. To take a wild, vague guesstimate based on my very limited experience, 1/2 or 1/3 people in the US with any interest in sports have at least a casual interest in the PL, and that's a number that's doubled in not too long. I can watch every single PL game on my computer, which is awesome, and more and more games are on network television. Of course, NJS, you can't expect our fellow Americans to be as fast on the uptake as we are, but it does seem like they're really moving along.
----------Suarez/Higuain-------- Ronnie--------Ozil/Modric--------Bale --------------Alonso---Khadeira----- Now that is a pretty tasty line-up if you ask me. Bale cannot be double marked, as Ronnie is more of a goal threat. Teams will have to do a Chelsea to keep them out. I really can't see Barca being able to live with a counter with Bale and Ronaldo sp from their point of view, 60m is not a bad lay off for someone to take the burden off Ronaldo, and act as a perfect foil/replacement for him. I think I would take that over Sanchez - Neymar - Messi
^^^^ old and rather boring news thats been thrashed to death allday, but thanks for thinking every Spurs supporter may have missed all that.
Didn't realised it was from earlier , only just checked other clubs sports news just now. And hoping its true as otherwise Real will be poaching Suarez
We now have United ,£ity and Chelsea fighting for Bale for 80 million, according to the gossip column
We aren't selling him full stop. It's getting so boring reading the same **** every day. - End of next season, fair enough. I wish we'd start moving with our incoming signings though. Liverpool have got it spot on and have already signed 2 players. I don't think I can take another "end of the transfer window rush". Some might not be overly keen on David Villa, but his name would do wonders along side bale in attracting other top talent.
Becoming Modric part 2, except Bale won't act like a prick. Levy/ Spurs wouldn't be offering him a new deal if their intentions were to sell him this summer. Next summer like you said is a different story but as of right now, Bale's staying. The Media really don't help the smaller clubs, Barca/ Madrid/ Utd etc probably get half their players through the power of media. I too hope we get deals done early, it's becoming a joke now that we leave our business to the final day. I hope Levy is already negotiating deals now and not just making silly little enquiries. By July 1st, I'd want at least one new striker in. We have to make sure they get prep time with the team before the new season.
it was to be expected though I guess. As for incomings, I really hope we can conclude all of our business throughout June so the players are together for our period of friendlies and pre season training. It's too much to ask, I know.
None of us know what has been said, or promised to Bale by the club. To entice him into signing a new contract he may well have been told how the squad would be strengthened, etc. As has been said, if I were Bale, or his loudmouth agent, I would be in no rush to sign anything until I see what signings are made, and if the club are keeping whatever promises may have been made.
If Bale is actually doing that, us fans owe him big time for doing so. - Although it might not seem like it right now. If Levy has any doubt that he might lost Bale (the only world class player we have left that he can profit heavily from), I expect he'd get the wallet out! I'd love to find out that bale was actually calling levy's bluff. #karma TMT, I just am. he's only 23, he's not a mercenary, he's just had a kid, he's settled, he's just signed up for BT sponsorship... there's too many reasons against him going right now. In a year, I won't be so sure. EVEN IF we make the CL.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/8742525 hulk lads? - perhaps we'll get him at a cut price of £45m
To concentrate power (and the best players) within just a few clubs surely can't be good for football in the long term. But nobody cares about that if they can make £ today. The idea that certain clubs can effectively ignore any financial constraints laid down by the authorities, get the balance of refereeing decisions and sign anyone they want is not a good thing - and of course the idea of 'tapping up' seems to have disappeared completely!
What makes you so sure he will? Obviously no-one knows, what we do know is, that Madrid have a new manager to find, that alone is enough to put off any player thinking of going their until thats resolved, plus they have their own uncertainty over Ronaldo. Bale unlike Modric has not uttered anything, other than he would be honoured if RM wanted him. Now without taking that simplest of questions to any top pro footballer out of context, the simplest answer to it is obviously yes. What Bale has also said, repeatedly, is that again unlike Modric, he is happy WHL. With players on holiday atm, its most likely this bullshit will continue, and unlikely to be answered for a couple more weeks yet at least.
How Real Madrid and their cronies are getting away with this, i don't know. - Oh yeah, I do. Corruption.
