If Wellens is made available I would imagine that our Mick will be interested in bringing him to Ipswich as he did well for us during his loan spell.
I think we all know that the likes of Danns and Beckford were available for transfer ages ago. Sadly, I don't think Waghorn has developed in the way we all thought he might so he'll probably get flogged, Derby have been tracking him for ages. Gallagher, Futacs, Wellens, Logan are all goners for my money. Drinkwater is one of Pearson's boys so find that hard to believe.
Blimey ... Kasper was a Svem signing ... so were Bamba and Yakubu ... Konchesky ... I rate him about the 25th best ... but I admit that I could be wrong on this ... after all, there are quite a number of right backs that wouuld also be better at left back than Konch ...
Your wage bill is nearly £30M http://foxblogger.wordpress.com/201...-fair-play-means-nigel-pearson-needs-to-sell/
Wellens was good enough but time has caught up with him, should find another championship/league 1 team, Beckford is good enough, Danns is good enough, Gallagher was never quite up to it and St. Ledger is good enough when fully fit. Don't know how long each of them has left on their contracts but guess they won't be in a rush to leave unless they get good offers elsewhere.
No. It said it was £27m in 2011-12. That's over a year ago. We've released/sold loads of high earners/deadwood since then and more will follow in the summer.
Matt Mills would have been a big earner and Andy Johnson Bamba and Peltier I don't think would have been
Their replacements do not play for free. Nor do the many players who remain at the club having signed contracts during Sven-Goran Eriksson’s time in charge. You need to reduce your wage bill to £15M this season to have any chance of avoiding the FFP sanctions - That is one hell of a cull!!
No wonder St Ledger has been released. He's ****ing awful. He wouldn't look out of place at Billy Smarts.
Matt Mills, Sol Bamba, Michael Johnson, John Pantsil, Lee Peltier, Steve Howard and Matt Oakley all left Jermaine Beckford and Neil Danns spent most of the season out on loan
Sven gave him a new deal when he was in his prime Best midfielder in the league at the time according to Robbie Savage who was still playing when he said it
