I said it before and i'll say it again..Brenden Rodgers you Cnut !! All is fair in Love and War so no gripes on that part but it does look like the guy is stalking us and our Transfer targets! i find it a bit sickening really TBH. I wonder if this deal was one where the Swans board dragged their heels and he then ended up at Liverpool instead of us?? Also i have to say that most players would go to Liverpool instead of Swansea, cant fault the player there at all. A bit gutted,if we are dragging our heels in transfers then this guy from St E tienne will be the next one missed along with Negredo ! We have gone from knowing how things are going to pan out to not knowing a ****ing thing!! Oh well, here is the link http://www.anfield-online.co.uk/tra...-agree-8m-fee-for-spanish-striker-iago-aspas/
His choice. He'll play a bit part as third choice behind Sturridge and the odious Suarez for sure. He'll be wealthier but could have been a real star here. If we get decent players like Aubameyang it'll be because they put football ahead of money, and clearly Aspas ain't the type.
Maybe this is the reason that ML agent is talking to the press. Maybe he's gone to Liverpool, not for the money but because our board wouldn't sanction the tranfer for ML.
Speculation. We don't know that. Liverpool is a bigger draw if you want bigger money. Can't deny that, and that's the only reason imo. He could have played in Europe with us too.
Maybe thats the case, it certainly fits. It could also be that suarez is off and they need a replacement, but you have to Wonder about where that leaves borini. Very intresting development indeed..
Of course KJ, but we have been linked with Aspas for a very long time now, with some assuming that the deal was possibly very close to being tied up. Then all of a sudden Liverpool come in and get him, which also coincides with the ML stories in the press about hoping the board honour the financial agreement for transfer targets. Now it could be pure coincidence, but then again maybe it isn't.
In truth Valley, the press have linked us with Aspas, but the club have never formally stated their interest, any discussions, etc.. May all have been smoke and mirrors. Look at it this way .... from his video on another thread all of his highlighted goals came from situations where he was permitted loads of room ... not going to happen in the Prem. In comparison Michu doesn't need room, he just needs decent service. Liverpool now have Aspas - fine, exactly how many more foreign players can they stuff on their roster and how many more forwards - so they must be close to done .... and that's the best they got.
Look on the bright side - it could also mean we withdrew our interest because (as reported) Aubameyang is in the bag.
Tbh, I have seen very little of him and hadn't heard of him until he was reportedly linked with us. Hopefully the club used it as smoke and mirrors.
well thats one of laudrups target gone....Its know wonder he is upset with huw and whoever decides the transfer policy......more targets will go before laudrup gets any money the way things are going....you have to get in early or else..
"Hopefully the club used it as smoke and mirrors. " Not sure we're that clever. Dai - it happens. We're a small fish compared to Liverpool and we can't compete on wages. Not even close. Face facts - that matters more to some players. My guess is that Liverpool can pay him 3 times what he'd earn with us. That's not Jenkins's fault is it?
Not the club, but Laudrup probably is. Let's just hope he hasn't been led up the garden path by Huw Jenkins and the board.
I'm just loving how far we've come that we're pissed off that a player has chosen Liverpool over little old us
Laudrup never had a chance did he...he dont know where he stands and if he did maybe he could have got the player....we know he was keen on him and for £8 million liverpool have got a bargain...
Its not how far we have come its all about staying here and we have to get players of that caliber and we have missed out on him at that price....
It remains to be seen what we've missed out on. He could turn out to be nothing, we could end up with better. Who knows at this stage?
Not really sure how you can claim that he's gone (even though nothing's been officially said yet, still just internet talk) to Liverpool for money (no idea if a contract's even been offered, or how much) over football Nor can I understand why we've 'stolen' one of your targets. He's a player who's clearly under the radar for alot of clubs but there is interest in him, we've (reportedly) made an offer and Swansea haven't. Surely the fault is at your club and the board one way or another and it has nothing to do with a choice between clubs.
