Somebody asked about putting up a Canada thread in the previous Monaco Grand Prix section. Since I'm new I decided to do it hopefully it's all correct.
Gone for Hamilton. He's usually good round here, Mark Hughes has put his current problems down to feel on the brakes which is crucial here so hopefully he gets his confidence back. Not sure how much of an issue tyres will be, are they still changing them? I don't think Red Bull will be any good in the race because they'll no doubt set their car up to be 20km/h slower than everyone else on the straights. I think Lotus, Ferrari, Mercedes and Force India will be strong though. It's anyone's really. Especially if it's wet.
No real fast corners here either, some quick chicanes but lots of slow corners requiring good traction, which is a strong point of the Merc's, they're also quick in a straight line, Hamilton also owns this track and if he can't be Rosberg here then he could be in for a rude (if not already) awakening for the rest of 2013.. I'm gonna vote Hamilton here too but with a cheeky wee bet on Button
I'll break the mold and select Alonso since they have been pretty strong all season bar Monaco which I believe was a one off.
Gone for Alonso. I think Hamilton will get pole as he seems to love this track but even with the track surface being tyre friendly I can't see his Mercedes holding itself together
Oh and thanks for doing this thread CaptainF1. I've gone for Vettel as it's surely his race to lose don't you think
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/107752 Pirelli's modified 2013-specification rear tyres will only be used in Friday practice at next week's Canadian Grand Prix, rather than for the whole weekend as originally hoped. Each team will be given two sets of the new-specification rubber for evaluation with a view to them being used as race tyres from the British Grand Prix at the end of June onwards. The changes could also reduce the risk of a repeat of the four-stop strategies seen in Spain thanks to the operating temperatures of the new rear tyres dropping by 5-10 degrees.
Don't know, the Red Bull likes to chew up it's tyres so I think it's just a straight fight between Alonso and Kimi.
I don't think they'll get away with just a slap on the wrist, Lauda's emotions were all over the place when Kravitz was pushing on the matter, FACT!
The ****'s really going to hit the fan if they win here. Go over a year without winning and then win the next two following an illegal test.
This is my favourite grand prix of the year! Gone for Alonso, just because he seems to be up and down atm, and just had a down!
Good thread mate, it stops Bando messing it up as usual I shall go with Lewis Hamilton. He's historically been good in Canada, and if Mercedes have been testing the Canada spec tyres, it gives them an advantage.
Alonso's race to lose IMO. He clearly has the best car and should easily win the WDC. Vettel is not only fighting Alonso but Pat Fry as well!
