Sandown 8.50 Shamaal Nibras Get stuck in pilgrims. The Champ doesn't say this very often but he's saying it today. 10/1 long gone
Jailcase Bob? Atlantis City for me 2:30 At Brighton Hannon has no messing in these openers an will get the day off to a flyer, fill ya boots at the 5's
I guess you had already seen this from Terry Norman's blog then Bob ? "Shamaal Nibras - Sandown, Thursday Normally when I look at a race, a bit like when you turn over your exam paper, you scan the field and panic over whom you don't think you can beat. It's not the case here. I think Shamaal Nibras will win. The fact he is 10-1 is the only surprise. The horse hasn't been in the yard for long but there is much in his favour. A drop of 2lbs, from a promising run at Goodwood (fro an awful draw), enables him to run in a 0-95 for the first time in a while, he acts on the ground and the step up again to a 1m is definitely in his favour. Shamaal Nibras is a lovely big horse so his stride will be used more tonight than has often been the case with him in the past. There will be plenty of pace in the race with Spa's Dancer, the market leader, the worst drawn in 13, unless they come across to the stands rails. Plenty of horses in this contest want further and the same number wouldn't want any more rain. I love this horse and his attitude. He really needs to win to cement his place in the Hunt Cup (he is probably too well handicapped now), a race that he would have a chance in. " Going to put it in an e/w double myself with Bright Glow in the 5.20 at Lingfield. Normally I'd be hesitant about backing anything with Ted on board but he seems to finding a few winners of later. Take a look at Bright Glow's recent run over 6F at the same track and he was last and off the bridle coming into the home turn. Once he got going he came home with a wet sail and off the same mark and the extra furlong, he should really go close tomorrow.
Here you go - he's pretty up front in his assessment as you'll see going back through recent postings so when I saw your post, I checked this and found his confidence to be similar http://terrynorman007.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
Cheers. That'll do for me. They don't stick Thomas Brown up top unless they are going for the win. Only reason I looked into the horse in any depth.
19.15 Sandown- Cavalryman - 5/1 Colour Vision as the highest-rated in the race, he won a very competitive ascot gold cup last yr but his effort at the same venue on Champions Day was hard to forget, yes he does well on his re-appearnce and it seems De Sousa has picked him over my pick. But it wouldnt be the 1st time Barzalona has upset the pecking order and he looked good when landing a Meydan Group 3 in March, he has won over C&D and is a horse on form where as alot of these are running 1st time out after a disappointing end to last season, have not run well this season and a couple have some new yards. So am going for a horse on form with a good jockey and wouldnt suprise me to see him pass De Sousa come the finish line!
7.50 Sandown: MUKHADRAM 6/1 -Haggas goes straight into Group 3 territory and I think that might be an indication of the regard and potential improvement in this one. Ran an excellent 2nd to Mariners Cross in a traditionally strong Newmarket maiden at the start of last year, and ended an excellent 5th of 33 in the Cambridgeshire. He was off a mark of 101 that day and travelled like a very good horse. I think there might be some nice prizes as a 4 year old for this one and I expect a strong performance here on the way to either Royal Ascot or the King George meeting.
I backed Shamaal Nibras earlier on purely on Terry Norman's confidence. He knows what he's talking about and isn't the sort of person to overhype a horses chances.
Cheers SMP. Ignore my post above folks Backing one of the biggies for the Oaks- MADAME DEFARGE 25/1. An absolute tank of a filly. Beautifully bred and will relish the trip with a capital R. A very unlucky loser last time. I am surprised this is down as Bells '2nd string' with Spencer riding The Lark, who looks to have a lot of ability also. I like them both but Madame Defarge looks an awful lot like Liber Nauticus- and at 25/1 that represents a huge price.
Morning all hope today is as good as yesterday there seems a few worthy bets already I am going to side with danzoe at 9/1 at Brighton 430 e/w I think the conditions may favour good luck all
Morning, crew. Hope everyone well. Hologram, I see, was knocked back down to his vendor yesterday for £60k. Somewhat surprised that he didn’t go to one of the big yards for a lot more given his breeding and the fact that his debut run reeked of Potential with several capital ‘P’s’. Certainly if I had a bit more loot in the vault right now I would have nodded at the auctioneer and then dispatched him to the care of Mr Henderson’s magic hands – Holgram that is, by the way, not the autioneer. Corking card at Sanders Park this evening with 4 Listed or Group heats. However, from a personal punting perspective I won’t be getting involved as there are a couple of ‘shorties’ whilst for a lot of others it is merely the ‘prep’ for Royal Ascot rather than the main event. Last term I came to greatly respect High Jinx as a stayer and think he will go mega close in the main event in Royal Berkshire next month but today I would imagine the main purpose is to get him fully ready for bigger pots. His class though could still see him oblige this eve. Re the Gold Cup, which lets not forget is run at Ascot rather than Cheltenham as some foolishly and mistakenly think, I see that Pricewise has today tipped up a German trained animal at 40/1! Good luck today, people.
Good morning! Corpus Christi public holiday in six of the States in Germany (not where Oddy is) so, as the hoi polloi down here would say, - "Happy Cadaver Day!" GL to all having a wager today!
I'm just a Protestant enjoying a Catholic holiday! No Tegernsee sadly, missus wants to do the bloody housework a day early . Am stressed-out already....
Good morning all, hope we are all well... Eric Alston seems to be having a good start to the season at the moment and i think it will continue up at Hamilton today... 3.40 - Spavento, 5/2 Won this contest last year and warmed up with a win lto at Newcastle at the same distance. 3 x CD winner with a 4/2 CD win at Hamilton... 4.10 - Chester Aristocrat, 9/4 Won last weekend at Haydock so obviously they are trying to strike while the iron is hot. Jason Hart has a half decent record for Eric Alston here at the track, and he will negate the 5lb rise for last weekends win... Singles n Double...
