The weather here has been very wet and cold throughout this year. It was mainly dry down on the Med, but there was a strong northerly wind keeping the temperature down. Been to see what the rain has done to my planting and it is all very wet, and behind schedule. The forecast for today even shows hail. <yikes>

You didn't miss much football wise I am afraid :(

sorry to hear about you traffic fine..... I always think it is just a matter of chance.... these days I watch the MPG and am much more sedate.... but I still find myself going faster than the speed limits......

Vic... my lawn has been sponge since last summer..... it is in fact covered with so much moss.... if I killed the moss I would have not much left <doh>

Kill the moss, dig over the soil, incorporating plenty of "bulky organic matter" (i.e. horseshit or garden compost) and plant shrubs and perennials. A mixed border will give you far more pleasure than a "spongy" lawn.

Of course, you may have children who like to play on the lawn.........

Four hours' walking along the coastal path and the hills and steps are higher than the last time I did the same walk. One knee and one hip are complaining a bit. No idea why the others think everything's OK.

I also have a very fine display of moss in my lawn. It appears now to be resistant to the stuff I spread to get rid of it in May. Digging it up sounds a good idea. Any volunteers?

I can hardly hardly move after an evening in Looe (not on the loo!). One knee and one hip are already stiffer than they were when I finished today's walk and we've just worked our way through three courses...local crab, skate landed this afternoon and clotted cream crème brulee...not to mention home made bread, sauté potatoes, buttered asparagus and shortbread. Perhaps the hip and knee are complaining about the extra weight!

    Morning all

Mostly blue sky in Cornwall. A long bath has eased a few of yesterday's stiff muscles. Off to friends in Trenance today...lunch and a walk to Bedruthan Steps. I shall be taking it gently!
