Must say if we sign Toure and Papa ( fully done deals) it will show that Rodgers has noticed we need to tighten things up at the back and that is good for me. Recognizing it can't just be about possession and getting goals. Hopfully a good defensive coach brought in as well?

Still woul like to see someone who can moonlight as a LB and LM for cover ( not ****ing Downing!) espeically with reports that J. Robinson is going to hull on loan.

Also, probably mentioned, Suso on loan to Swansea ( if he gets lots of minutes) is excellent news. Think he will learn a lot!

 

Papa, Begovic, Diame, Honda, Mkhitaryan ....... talksport best 5 for us apparently, would you be happy with that.

I think BR recognises that LB and central midfield needs boosting but it all depends on how much money we have.

Lucas Digne has been looked at who is another exciting prospect at LB.

The really encouraging thing is that we're looking to shift Skrtel and Carroll who alone would generate £25m+. Put it into context, we could sign Papa, Toure and Ilori for just £15m of that money received.

 

Figures starting to come out with the rumors..... thoughts?

 

I think he's a decent player however I feel €9m is a bit too much.

He would definitely add more than Borini lol - versatile player, tidy finisher, can play on the wing, number 10 or as striker, and works hard (closing down players).

He's a 'poor mans' Luis Suarez ...

 

Could be a steal a la michu. Hard thing with these types of players.

 

I think he's worth the risk if we could drop the price to about €7m. But I also heard that his value will practically halve if Celta relegated (unsure if they are or still have one more match to play?).

 

Just checked - there is still one match left.

Celta are in 18th place but are only 1 point off 17th place (Deportivo).
