Wouldn't it be funny if Leicester wanted him, but for some reason had to sell Schmeichel to get him on his ridiculous wages? Glad we missed out on that dickhead now. If we had got him, we wouldn't have gone for Gedo OR Boyd in all likeliness.
He's only on 15k, that was one of the talking points of his switch to Blackburn, he was dropping down a division and almost doubling his wage. If none of this rubbish with him had come about I'd have been happy to have him here, we wouldn't have known we was a little ****. And I think our squad would be stronger for it. Although I doubt we'd have just announced the signing of Georgiano Boydaldo if we had, so maybe not.
It's pointless saying that we 'dodged a bullet'. If he had signed for us he might have scored 8-10 goals and we might have gone on to win the league. Just because he failed at Blackburn doesn't mean he would have failed here. Success for most pro footballers is all about been in the right place at the right time.
He may have...but would Bruce have played Gedo (who scored 5 in 5 and won us a ton of points) so soon if we had signed DJ? Swings and roundabouts I suppose but I'm glad that striking position is now free for some real quality.
