I don't like the idea, I feel it cheapens the rivalry a little bit.

You should say "one of the most bitter rivalries". Don't you have schools in East Anglia FFS?

It is considered good manners in this part of the world to speak the Queens English.

That would be the Queen's English, I presume? <laugh>

And in this part of the country it's considered poor manners to walk into someone else's house (or forum), and start nit-picking without any attempt to contribute to the conversation. But I suppose we all have different expectations.

This probably isn't a great idea, as has already been stated. However, I can think of no better way to get the players going for a friendly, could be really good preparation for the season to play a game in anger, of sorts.

    Cleggy left us ages ago!

As for the game, whats the point? If we win it will be from you lot 'Oh well, it was only a friendly and we didn't try' yet if you lot win it would be a chance for you to pretend you've won a major trophy or something!

Can I just point you to a thread on your own board by the title of "Bassong Own Goal?"

I think it's fair to say that every club has it's pillocks.. Something I got shot down for saying after the invasion of a number of Norwich posters after Chopra's incidents and we were apparently "Spiraling out of control" with "Serious Serious issues" etc. which I won't be daft enough to throw back your way regarding Bassong..

As for the Derby, a waste of time really. it would fill the ground and add a bit of meaning to a quiet afternoon match but the policing costs (regardless of whether there is trouble or not) wouldn't be worthwhile added to that the fact that neither club would be able to give it the respect that it deserves (or the fan's would demand) so I wouldn't want to see it happen <ok>

Total agree KOPR, Why have the potential for trouble in a friendly? would far prefer us to meet the next time in a match which has some meaning to it.

Meaningless and a waste of time and money - especially when you factor in the policing costs and the potential for trouble.

My first reaction was 'don't be so soft, there may be trouble ahead' but on reflection, it has been a while since we were last able to polish up that open topped bus.....:emoticon-0112-wonde

If it goes ahead, couldn't the proceeds (minus policing costs) go to a decent charity, supported by both sets of fans?

As we are doing the love in thing here are some players that have played for both clubs:

Keith Bertschin, John Deehan, Kevin Putney, Andy Marshall...
