If someone takes a paycut it is because they want to play at the top level. I see this as a positive. The guy still feels he has something to offer. Otherwise he could have just pissed off to china or usa for megabucks. Dont kbow if its hope or wisdom. But i reckob he is going to be a signing og gary mac proportions

We've no idea how much he's earning yet...nor how much his signing on fee is. I hope it's not Joe Cole II in terms of a contract

Good signing to have as back up, and a wise head to guide the youngsters.

I can't remember who wrote it (possibly Thierry Henry in his bio) but they mentioned how Kolo would stay behind and help some of the academy lads at Arsenal.

Toure, experienced defender with a winning mentality (won the league amongst others), he won't interfere with the development of the youngsters, got him on a free (took a significant pay cut) and will probably be gone in 2 years.

I think some people are concerned that he is our starting CB - he won't be. Pretty much guarantee it.

We all hope that mate. If it's a ridiculous contract then we've learned nothing and someone deserves a kicking....if not then I think its a really good bit of business.

    ok results... stop the press

the man in the street poll indicates most are somewhat in favor of this transfer with only 5 out of 41 (call it 12%) thinking is a bad deal. 9/41 or 22% are worried if he can still cut it. 19.5% think its great so the majority 19/41 = 46.5 approx think he's a good squad option.
