I agree with this. If we'd signed a 25 year old who is proven, that would push Kelly and Wisdom back. Keep MS and sign Toure, then you've got a bit of cover from and old bloke until Wisdom and Kelly can play game in game out. I can't see their game time being limited by him, I hope they play more mins than Toure.

Like MITO says, as long as the wages are right, not a bad signing.

    Gutted to lose kolo
Played really well whenever given an opportunity at right back or centre half, still retains his pace and for me is a very good signing for you
Don't know any city fans who wouldn't have kept him for another couple of years
Hope he gets the chance to play more, great pro

He will replace the experience we lose from Carragher leaving at the end of the season which is something I reckon Rodgers has been looking at for long as he obviously values Carra's experience.

He was a very good CB but I'm not sure he's ageing well tbh. Bags of experience though & a capable squad player to replace Carra La.

He is a solid if unspectacular signing. Will provide you lot with much needed cover and experience in defence. Hasn't been the same since his bout of Malaria though. However, you could do worse and he is a free transfer so nothing lost. <ok>

No such thing as a free transfer. Any news on his wages yet?

Not impressed even as a back up signing. Was good in his day but now far to slow

Not many defenders slower than Carra and he was superb for half the season he played

Plus kolo really isn't that slow??

With respect,he is only 32 and I think he's still got surprisingly good pace <ok>

  15. Pace isn't everything but it certainly can help. However, half the game is played in the mind. If you are able to read the game before others than you already have a yard head start. IMO, there isn't a better CB at reading the game (or organising) than Carragher and anyone coming in will be harshly judged in comparison.

For the reported 120k a week and 5mill sign on, I think it's only fair to have high expectations

  17. If that turns out to be true then BR and IA are in for some stick from me #shocking
