A backward step for me... I just hope he is only here for cover... He was a good defender but i havnt seen anything like the standard he had 5 years ago when playing for Arsenal... I don't get it...
I like polls, provided they're not called Graham or applying for my job! Not convinced. If he recaptures some of his past form then great, but...that's a big if. And the money, would be interested to see how much he's on - I assume it's less than Carra at least.
If we are getting him for next to nowt then its a good deal i suppose, but i would prefer his brother...
Could do with a "decent buy but only as a squad player" option. As in January, at least we are trying to do business early.
Strong, conposed defender. Big club, big league, big tournament, big game, big winning experience. Brings knowledge and lessons that the younger players will learn from. He is not world class but makes good back up and a positive influence in the dressing room.
Surely to make an informed decision we should wait till we know how much he is on and for how long? 1 year rolling on £60k and it's a good bit of business. 3 years of £90k and its a bloody waste
thats is true, this poll is just about the sky sports guy who goes about looking for randomer opinion on the day.... what's your gut say type of thing.
If wages reasonable (twitterverse saying significant pay cut) this is a good thing. Has experience that young guys will miss now that Carra has left altogether. We have two young prospects (Kelly & Wisdom) that bringing in two 25yr olds would say "you're never getting a chance" . What's the point in the youth set up if we did that? Toure tells them, two more years to develop. Wouldn't mind one 25ish old CB though ......
he was on what 180-200k or something mad so significant to him could be still a massive wage for lfc... who knows.
Lets face it,unless were talking League cup or similar Toure will probably be 4th choice CB. 3rd at a push so considering aforementioned experience etc. this could be a shrewd signing.
IMO, he would be second choice behind only Agger now (still third if you rate Skrtel) so I'm assuming you're making presumptions there? Expecting a first choice CB to arrive too?
All depends on the Skrtel situation (and yes,I rate Skrtel but wonder whats been going on with him behind the scenes). There's also Coates who is further down the pecking order. First choice CB to arrive? Again dependant on so many other things (moving Kelly or Wisdom across?) Pleased the club appear to be sorting this sooner rather than later,it's all presumptious at the mo.
